Stan Stammen built the Woodridge cross county program into something to be proud of. Three decades of excellence can be torn down in two short decades though. Coach Stammen would be rolling over in his grave if he were not alive and well living the good life in his beautiful home in even more beautiful Peninsula Ohio. We have all scratched our heads and wondered why teams sometimes sandbag. Why? How can it work? Well, it apparently is a viable strategy if pulled off against a gullible enough coach. It works, if you are patient enough. 15, 20, 30 years. That's all it takes.

The good people of Centerville might have a little hint of how we feel here this evening. They might be able to relate to the taste of bile that coats our mouths here in the home of the Bulldogs. The mighty Casey has struck out.

Streetsboro beats Woodridge girls by 2 in a dual meet.

Woodridge will probably drop to about 170th in the coaches pole.

I will try to give the coach the benefit of the doubt, but what a rookie mistake.

I believe Woodridge is the high school name in the Tim Allen TV sitcom "Last Man Standing". Or it could be Woodbridge, not sure.

FWIW - We were in a conference with Woodridge and were close to them on a few occasions. We switched to a new league where a rival is Ridgewood.... a real nightmare come true. Not as Big as Marlon Brando, but close to the size of Orson Wells.

Yes, Stan the Man is probably tormented by the level to which his beloved Woodridge program has sunken in the last several years!
