is there a better RB in North Canton Hoover history than James Pope? I've seen him play and know him personally and i cant think of a better RB in Hoover history. Any objections?

jim pope was a very good powerback and was good for short yardage gains but i think alex ramsey had an edge over jim because of his breakaway threat, jim was good and probably in the top 15 but i wouldnt call him the best in hoover history, anybody remember bobby hendrey

personally the only player that could be considered one of the best in hoover history for his spot would have to be that heighway kid, pope was good, but there were so many really good running backs at hoover, bobby hendry, ramsey, logan, and maybe even gruber were better, but pope was good at getting the yards when he needed them. Heighway who played with pope helped in a sense change the way popes senior year came about, his junior year he could have easily been one of the best in history of hoover, but thanks pope for the good running i got to watch.:D

Don't get me wrong I enjoyed watching Jim Pope run the ball but here is a list of 20 guys I would put In my backfeild before him

1. Jeff Logan
2. Hendrey
3. Wolf
4. Rupe
5. Barns
6. Kenville
7. Ramsey
8. Matt Tate
9. Lukens
10. Gibbs
11. Steve Tate
12. Orndforfe
13. Zucal
14. Gibbs
15. Glenn Dragoiu
16. Quincy
17. Scott Grubber
18. Turick
19. Radich
20. And possibly an 8th grad Eric Howard

Welcome Orange Crush.

No I meant his younger bro Chris. Chris played on the 1995 Playoff team. He wasn't featured in the offense that much, but when he did run the ball he was both punishing and had a nose for the holes.

Chris didn't have a brother named Jeff. His brothers are Matt and Scott.

Yes he is helping coach the Greentown youth. He's a great person and I think this is one of the reasons that NC football continues to have such a great tradition......past players getting invovled in the youth here at NC.

Yes, he coached my son this past season at Greentown and will again next year. He is the offensive coordinator for the Greentown A team.

I used to live right next to his family when I was a kid. Then they moved out of the neighborhood and I haven't seen any of them since then. This year his parents came to a practice and it was great to see them again and talk about old times.
