IVC 2020

IVC facilities in 2019
1. East Canton
2. Garaway
3. Ridgewood
4. Buckeye Trail
5. Newcomerstown
6. Strasburg
7. TCC
8. Sandy Valley
9. Tusky Valley
10. Malvern
11. Indian Valley
12. Claymont
I’m a fan of the playing surface, the hard work and dedication put toward the quality and health of the facilities at TCC. The only complaint I have is one that’s... not really fixable: the lack of higher ground on the visitors side. I can understand there not being a real need for them to have a 12+ row set of bleachers that goes from one 20 to the other 20, but I found it at times a little hard to see “the whole game” on the visitors side without constantly shuffling from one end of the sideline to the other as the night went on (hard to see through a sideline of 30+ folks.) Not an indictment meant to take away from an otherwise Quality and Enjoyable home facility for a proud school, just one of ‘those things’ where an average joe wishes he could reform the earth a little to better suit his spoiled viewing pleasure.

Got a quick question on TCC: about 5-6 years ago I saw the Saints come marching in on a bus with a fascinatingly ornate color scheme, with the BigTime Sports logo I believe on it. Does TCC still utilize this latently intimidating vehicle? And does anyone have a photo of it they’re willing to share?

Really? Lol. Garaway stadium better than ridgewood? You seen their away bleachers?? You see where the visiting team has to film from? Ridgewood’s grass is nicer than turf.

I disagree styx,
1 Ridgewood
2 Sandy Valley
3 Buckeye Trail
4 Indian Valley
5 East Canton
6 Garaway
7 TCC
8 Claymont, tusky, newc
9 Strasburg
10 malvern
I am basing that on field, bleachers, atmosphere, pressbox and locker rooms

If you just like turf fields, then I would say Coshocton or Conotton have the best fields. I know they are not in the IVC or is Conotton in the IVC???

Garaway stadium way better... Sorry bro
Garaway has a decent set up for small town football but as a visiting fan, I hate the place. Even showing up early as all get out for games there is no room in the opposing bleachers (home side is not what I would call big either). Parking by the baseball field and over by belden brick plant is very unorganized as people all just box eachother in and leave no ways to get out. Fences are always lined with people which makes for an alright atmosphere but can not see much of anything that goes on in the game from there as a fan. Their sound system stinks, it cracks and pops more than a roll of bubble wrap. The refs tried to use mics for the IV game (they might use them for all games at garaway but thats the only game on the hill I saw this year) and they were so static and jacked up you couldn't understand a single thing the ref was saying. Would have been better to throw them in the garbage at halftime. Opposing pressbox is a 2 man treestand on the thirty yard line. Yes they have turf and yes the field house is nice, however I would not put them in the top 3. I have no vendetta against Sugarcreek, just have never walked away from that place impressed by it. Wood fieldhouse is close to completion and its one of the nicest natural grass surfaces you will find. Give me Ridgewood number 1. Great facilities, atmosphere and seating.

overall atmosphere, Ridgewood wins hands down. In my opinion, Ridgewood's natural grass is exceptional which eliminates the need for turf. There is plenty of seating and pressbox room for both teams. Now that the fieldhouse is nearing completion it will only pull Ridgewood further ahead. I'm interested to see Indian Valley's new stadium. Have to imagine that when it is completed they will jump to the top of the list. Garaway is not a very visitor friendly stadium (see the visitors "pressbox" that sits all the way down on the 30 yard line) and parking is an issue. The turf is nice but seems to be wet all the time. I'm not sure if it's a drainage issue or what. Yes East Canton has turf but very small visitor bleachers. Sandy Valley's field will be nice once the turf is installed but the pre game and game atmosphere lacks a bit with very quiet music. As far as guest experience and atmosphere I feel Ridgewood takes the cake.

Breaking it down:
Best playing surface: grass Ridgewood turf East Canton
Best home bleachers Ridgewood 2nd Sandy Valley or Buckeye Trail Best away Bleachers Ridgewood 2nd Sandy
Best Locker rooms: Sandy Valley 2nd Garaway
Best press box: Ridgewood 2nd Sandy
Best Parking: Sandy
Best pre game music: Ridgewood
Best atmosphere: Ridgewood 2nd Indian Valley
Best crowds: Ridgewood 2nd Indian Valley
Worst playing Surface: grass Claymont turf Garaway
Worst home Bleachers: TCC Worst away TCC or malvern
Worst locker rooms: Strasburg 2nd Claymont
Worst press box: Strasburg or claymont or garaway
Worst parking: Indian Valley
Worst pre game music Newcomerstown
Worst atmosphere: Garaway
Worst crowd Newcomerstown( stadium is too big)

Two other things that help separate Ridgewood.

#1 - The lighting. Having three sets of lights on each side of the field really helps as far as taking pictures/video. It's by far the best lit field in the IVC.
#2 - The WiFi. The WiFi connection was strong where ever I was in the stadium. Some stadiums don't even seem to have WiFi.

Having said that, nobody has a cool train like Tusky Valley does!

Garaway stadium way better... Sorry bro

Much Better....EC as well than ridgewood. Let's not wax poetic about the superiority of grass to turf. Ridgewood has a solid stadium but again not a complete centerpiece of facilities.

Bo Kimble is either the biggest Ridgewood hater out there or the biggest troll. Aside from the fact that both these schools have turf and Ridgewood has grass (softer, not as hot, safer) how do the above top Ridgewood's overall stadium? Ill be interested to hear your thoughts. I think everyone will be chasing IV as far as football facilities after this year. Ridgewood is building a new fieldhouse at the stadium which will add to it all. I think the kids at Ridgewood are so deprived having to play on the grass pictured below. Shame on the Ridgewood Administration!

Any grass field looks good early (welcome back coach, good luck net year btw) a field with turf is better than a grass one. the overall stadium is a immeasurable statistic, there's not some ambiance or charm in Ridgewood that is unparalled, but the renovations and layout at both Garaway and EC including turf, stretch that gap. It's always something with you guys?

The arial shot was taken week 11 and the other one was week 5 I believe.

I appreciate your allegiance to ec, but Garaway??? That place is bad, plus I do not like turf. I'm surprised with a body like yours (Bo) and no doubt the time you put into building it that you are a fan of fake grass. To the other post, TV pregame music is legit.

No allegiance to any team in particular. Ridgewood's stadium is ok, just not the best in the conference and it's not even close (3rd is pretty generous). It's a weird situation of superiority on this (proliferated by a coaching staff) on nearly every topic.

It gives the site legitimacy, plus it allows insight into the the ridgewood coaches thinking. I'm very grateful. BTW, which poster is he?

I don't get how anyone can think East Canton or Garaway are at the top of the list unless you automatically put them there because of turf. Neither stadium has much atmosphere at all.

I think we all are homers to our own stadiums in some fashion, but who remembers those crappy bleachers we had in the away section at SV up until a few years ago. Atrocious!

Facts: Claymont is the only team in the league that has a stadium. Everyone else has a field, of which East Canton has the most well maintained.
Opinions: TCC grass is the most impressive playing surface. IV had the best atmosphere and TV has the best sound system.

your opinions are believable, your facts are at best questionable. Don't get the claymont stadium?? explain. And you realize that east canton has turf, which is very nice, but maintained?
