Hoover bowling #1 in state?

I found it interesting that the best team at Hoover is the bowling team. The are #1 on in state. I guess they have a good core of seniors with Andrew Heighway, Jon Boyajian, Matt Campitelli, and Justin Esber. Anyone know anything about them? I have seen some stuff in the paper and wondered about the team. The polls were in the Rep. a couple days ago and I was surprised they had polls for bowling but then did some research and found that there are like 200 teams in ohio and that it is the fastest growing high school sport in our state and nation. WOW
 
 
Don't be surprised if bowling becomes a big enough sport in Ohio to be included by the OHSAA. The costs are low and the participation numbers are not that difficult to achieve. I think it's great that schools are offering more and more sports.

Really is kind of sad that a school of 1500 kids might only have 100 playing a sport in the winter. We need participation rates to be much higher.
 
When I read the paper I thought the rankings said, by the OHSAA. So, I am assuming that they are already OHSAA sponsored.They play this saturday at eastbury lanes, i might even go watch and yell for them.
 
bowling is not an OHSAA sport yet but it may be after this year because the minimum of 150 teams have been met this year so it can be one after this year.
 
They advance again!!! It was enjoyable to cheer them to a good match. We were winning the whole thing until the baker matches started. But, most importantly they advance. Next week stay focused and have fun. Represent Hoover well.
