There was also a gameless season in 1962 when the OHSAA imposed the "death penalty" on them.McKinley's only winless season came in 1918, they were 0-3.
The sports writers probably gave them a state title that year. There was also a gameless season in 1962 when the OHSAA imposed the "death penalty" on them.
Massillon played McK two times the next year to help them outThere was also a gameless season in 1962 when the OHSAA imposed the "death penalty" on them.
Canton CC played the Pups in ‘63 as well. CC’s coach at the time was hoping to show his program was at the Pups’ level. The plan backfired. Pups won 36-8 and beat them 5 more years in a row (CC never scored more than 8 pts. in any of those 6 meetings) before the series went away until the mid-‘80s.Massillon played McK two times the next year to help them out
if/when they get 1st dub, I'm all for a Pizza Party. Just make sure everyone agrees to the toppingsMcKinley won't go winless this year.
I only like plain cheese, like McCauley Culkin in home alone.if/when they get 1st dub, I'm all for a Pizza Party. Just make sure everyone agrees to the toppings
Thank you. This is just a dumb thread.McKinley won't go winless this year.
So they did not play when Alan Page was at CCC?Canton CC played the Pups in ‘63 as well. CC’s coach at the time was hoping to show his program was at the Pups’ level. The plan backfired. You are right, no need to panic. With the league they play in, their regular season record should be 5-5.Yikes! Panic a little?
Correct. Page graduated the spring before the teams' 1st meeting. So far, the 16 McK-CCC meetings have spanned 1963-1998.So they did not play when Alan Page was at CCC?
Jackson, North Canton and Glen Oak are all winnable games. North Canton has one of the softest 3-1 records I've seen. You are right, no need to panic. With the league they play in, their regular season record should be 5-5.
Careful, I was called a "Massillon douchebag" for saying the same thing. You are right, no need to panic. With the league they play in, their regular season record should be 5-5.
26-25.You are right, no need to panic. With the league they play in, their regular season record should be 5-5.

14 wins in history! Great league! LOL.26-25.
Someone else may have already answered, but I don't know because I have so many people on my ignore list anymore. Why'd the get the Death Penalty in 62?
honestly, that's not fair. Making Massillon and a douchebag guilty by associationCareful, I was called a "Massillon douchebag" for saying the same thing.
Some bases of fact the guy says. The OHSAA should erase this from the record books for what goes on in todays world of highschool football.Someone else may have already answered, but I don't know because I have so many people on my ignore list anymore.
The attached article and editorial from the same day's Massillon paper (Oct. 16, 1961) summarize the situation well enough. Lower courts sided with McKinley and eventually issued an injunction to block the OHSAA's decision to suspend McKinley football for the '62 season. However, the Ohio Supreme Court ultimately ruled in the OHSAA's favor in the spring of '62.
