Glenville

We’re not bringing in a transfer QB. I’m asking about the QB you guys have transferring in, is he a D1 prospect? Good enough to get you guys to the Final Four? The stronger the division the better!
His brother was the starting quarterback in 2016 and 2017, and he never lost a game while at Harding. Davis can play and might get some D1 looks in football if he hasn't already, but he is getting some D1 looks in hoops right now.

Glenville is not getting a transfer qb this year.
They are set at qb for at least 3 years!

Glenville lost a lot but returns a lot as all good programs do!

Easy favorites to repeat D-4
Avon
St Ed’s
One of olgytany schools
Hoban

That’s a nice schedule
Not sure how they got 4 non conference games again this year? Maybe a city school quit football?

We have 5 actually. We play Upper Arlington week 1. In 2023 we dropped two league games. And your analysis is spot on!

Ginn asked to be independent for football and the Senate said no but did decide to cut the amount of league games from 7 to 5

You just don’t stop. Must be exhausting.
Me posting "It's too early to tell. Tomlinson didn't commit until the summer" is a normal post that is completely accurate. If a player with his talent were to sign with GA in the summer, he would 100% jump to #1 on the Depth Chart.

Who is this quarterback that you keep referring to?
Just say his name? Is it Tomlinson? Where’s he from , a little back story would be great. Don’t like trying to read tea leaves

That 100% would not happen because a transfer QB is not an option. Not sure why that’s so hard for you to comprehend.
“Commit” and “sign” we get it and it’s very clever. We’re all set at QB with the kids that were groomed through the Ginn Elite program playing a national youth schedule. Hopefully we get your favorite team on the schedule in 2025.

Just curious. Who did Ginn ask? Also, I didnt know a league can keep you from going independent.

Dont know how that works but I thought a team can leave a league when they want. I guess I never really thought about it. May have to petition the league?
I dont know the inner workings but Im guessing its different because the Senate is comprised of CMSD schools only wheere as you have an individual district like Solon who can always just say to the GCC we're going to the Suburban. And its not like the Glenville administration would force the issue to go 100% indy. Just imagine having to schedule 44 independent boys and girls basketball games. For starters very few would be at home. More travel=more money which isnt a good thing for any city school. It only makes sense for football. And on the other hand its clear to me why the Senate/CMSD wants them playing at least a few league games. Its a reasonable compromise IMO

Because Ginn and err Glenville is a Cleveland school and must play the other city schools, that’s how it was set up. But rules are to be broken.
As great as Glenville is. They do so much damage to other Cleveland schools. Robbing them of team pride and opportunity to win. Their best players end up going to Ginn academy. Yes the kids end up in more structured environment being at Ginn more opportunity as well. But it also destroys team pride knowing every year they are going to be curb stomped by Glenville. Zero chance of winning. Best players go to Ginn. Right or wrong it’s a fact. Yes there is a hold out or two. This kid or that kid. But majority leave their schools to compete for Ginn

Ah so today we are going to have a Lakewood St. Edwards high school fan tell us the damage Glenville does to other Cleveland schools sport programs.

All the schools and athletic programs in Eds backyard surely must be THRIVING lol

So I’ll take that as admission
We can debate catholic school education
With a sports program at a later date.

I’m a fan of Glenville football at the school
It helps the kids. But it does decimate other senate schools. Some are D-1 and barely field a team. Losing is culture. But the ends justify the means . Ginn academy helps kids education and college and discipline. There is no perfect solution. If Ginn academy wasn’t available.
All the senate would be mediocre.

life's not fair to begin with. If I can go play FB at Glenville and attend Ginn Academy instead of lets say Collinwood, I am jumping on that opportunity.

And I totally agree! It’s what’s best for your own sons and daughters! That’s why I am a huge advocate for school choice! Where your tax dollars
Follow your child’s education.
I am just being honest and having dialogue that every action has consequences. But in the end if you’re a parent you want what’s best for your child.
I left a decent education system. To let my son attend St Ed’s because he wanted a faith based education with competitive sports. Which his district couldn’t provide.

Glenville was competitive before Ginn Academy, making it to at least one state semis I could find and beating teams like Ignatius during their hey day.

So someone blatantly lied and told a completely fabricated story to prove that Glenville players all live in the Glenville district?
Or… Just hear me out on this one… I drop kids off where they or their parents ask me to drop them off. I don’t ask for address verification or OHSAA elgibility docs, I just drop kids off after practice as a favor. Back to football, line up and play us.

And I don’t blame him one bit, no place for that language in high school sports. It’s pretty ironic that word being used in a basketball game decades ago and St. Ignatius being a total show in football for very obvious reasons. Congrats on the upcoming 3-9 season, at least you guys finally have a few D1 players. 👏🏾👏
He wasn't kicked to the curb by Ed's for saying a word, rather it was for sucker punching a kid who ended up in the hospital with a concussion. And as for your intended swipe at Ignatius for the current of the Cats football program, it fell on deaf ears as I am still basking in the glow of state championships in soccer, hockey, and b-ball.
