Final four teams in div 1 from the Dayton area?

Great info here. Thanks for providing. Interesting to think about these numbers.

This year, like most years, I think the question in Dayton is can any of our big GWOC teams beat a GCL power or good GMC team in one game at UD Arena when it matters. I don't know a ton about Cincy hoops this year, but I'd think the trio of Springboro, Beavercreek and Wayne could all be optimistic about their chances.

No. Walnut Hills, Lakota East, X and Moe are all better than the top 3 D1's in Dayton.
Beavercreek and Boro should make the districts with an outside shot of making the regionals. Depnds on who they play in the districts.

That's prob ture, but here in Dayton D2 rules. And Walnut Hills, Lakota East, X, and Moe would get waxed by Thurgood Marshall and prob Dunbar.

Prior to the 4 division alignment, the Dayton area schools had more success in the "big" division (AAA). 1987 was the last year of the three division alignment (AAA, AA and A) when Dunbar won the AAA championship over Canton McKinley. Dayton's power has shifted to D2 under the new alignment.

In my day, the "big" division was AA. Roosevelt (1960), Belmont (1964), and Chaminade (1966, 1970) all made the final four and WON! Dixie won the Class A title in 1962 and 1966 and Arcanum won in 1969.

Geez, you may be older than me!

I remember the day of two divisions.

love to ball,
did you see those dixie teams play in 62 and 66? their coach, columbus hines, was quite a character.

Walnut Hills . . .

Have you seen Walnut HIlls or any of the other teams play ? Athletically they are equal to Marshall. X's and O's Walnut may be better.
