Penn State Univ and the AVCA will expand their State College Boys Varsity Invitational from just a Pennsylvania tournament to include teams from surrounding states, including Ohio. It will be held during the NCAA men's final four and will also include a talent showcase and clinic. Details will be made available to high school coaches in the near future.

The website for the tournament hasn't had any updates and Elder's website doesn't have any results up yet.
The tournament format went as follows:
36 teams split into 9 pools of 4.
Round 1.
There would be a round robin within each pool, 2 games to 21, 2 point cap.
The top two teams from each pool as well as the next two best teams, by record and points scored would move on to the Championship Pool.
The bottom 16 would go to the Consolation Pool.
Round 2.
The top 20 in the Championship pool would be split into 5 pools of 4 teams, and another round robin was played. 2 games again to 21, 2 point cap. After this, the top 10 teams would be reseeded in a bracket. The bottom 10 would be placed in the "play-in" portion of the bracket.
Conso Pool works the same way 4 pools of 4. Round robin, etc.
3. Championship Bracket.
The play-in teams play one game to 25, with no cap and no switch.
Then the Quarterfinals would play one game to 30, no cap no switch.
The Semi's, one game to 30, no cap, no switch.
The Finals play three games to 25, 25, 15, no cap, no switch.
I'm assuming the conso's work the same way. Sounds like a whole lot of volleyball. The first RR was to play from 8-1230, the seond RR from 1-530 and the rest of the tournament was the play out the rest of the night. Whoever makes it to the finals, I imagine will be exhuasted.
