Congrats to the golf team. Yesterday they shot 305 at the sectional at Miami Whitewater and finished second to St. X. The Panthers were paced by two-time GCL Player of the Year junior Cayse Morgan, who was medalist with a 65, six shots better than the runner up. The Panthers advanced to the district tournament at Heatherwoode Golf Club in Springboro next Wednesday.

Best of luck to the Elder golf team as they tee it up today at Heatherwoode Golf Club in Springboro. They are sophomore Jack Richardson (10:55), senior Colin Josshua (11:05), senior Luke Meade (11:15), senior Mikey Schutte (11:25), and junior Cayse Morgan (11:35). The top three teams and the top three low scoring individuals not on a qualifying team will advance to the D-I state tournament at OSU Scarlet next Friday and Saturday.

There is bad news and good news to report from the links. The bad news is that the Panthers shot 313 and finished fifth. Springboro (293), X (301), and Lakota East (306) were the three qualifying teams. Bellbrook (308) was fourth. Congrats to all the Panther golfers as they had a very good season.
The good news is that Cayse Morgan's season is not yet over. He shot 33-35 for a 68. He was medalist by two strokes and will play next week at the state tournament.
Best of luck to Cayse!

Sounds like Cayse Morgan is absolutely tearing it up. Good luck to him next week and congratulations to the rest of the team on a great season!

On Friday Cayse Morgan will be in the second last group off the front nine of OSU Scarlet (36-35-71) and will tee off at 10:40. Right now the forecast says showers on Friday and morning showers on Saturday but who knows what the weather actually will be.
The OHSAA golf tournament ticket page says the cost for Day 1 is $16. I guess that means you have to pony up another $16 if you want to walk the course on Saturday, too. I was thinking of going but that seems a bit steep to me; maybe the OHSAA needs to charge that amount to pay OSU.

We received a decent amount of rain last night here in C-bus but more rain is not supposed to arrive until about 1:00 or 2:00, so hopefully all the golfers will be able to complete their rounds without having to break out their rain gear.
Good luck to Cayse!

Cayse Morgan finished at +1.

Should be in the top 10 and closer to 6 or 7 overall but that is just a guess based on the last leaderboard I saw from a couple hours ago.

I'll post it below.

Cayse Morgan shot a one-under 70 today and finished at even par with a two-day total of 142. He finished in a tie for third place with one other golfer. A golfer from C-bus DeSales won the individual title with a seven-under 135 (69-66), one stroke better than the runner-up.
Congratulations to Cayse on a great season!

More kudos to Cayse. I just read on EHSports that he was named First Team All-State and his 142 is now the Elder record for low score at the state tournament. Victor Caliguri set the previous record of 144 two years ago.
