Avon U12 baseball didn’t go down without a fight against Tallmadge on Thursday evening.
Now it’ll have to fight its way back from the consolation bracket.
Tallmadge built an eight-run lead, but Avon battled back in the final three innings of a 10-7 loss in the Little League U12 District 3 tournament. The loss means Avon will have to win its next three games to emerge as champion.
Avon will host either Cuyahoga Falls North or Elyria on Saturday at 1 p.m. The winner must beat Tallmadge twice to come away with the crown, first on Monday at Tallmadge then on Tuesday at a site to be determined.
