Dan Patrick: San Diego State to PAC-12

At least it makes geographic sense, and San Diego is a decent market for trying to recoup some SoCal identity once USC and UCLA leave. And SDSU has at times been one of the better mid-major football teams the past couple decades, often with a solid hoops team, to boot.

I assume Boise State would make some sense for a 12th team, or even a weaker school in UNLV if they blatantly want to get a Vegas team into the fold. Of course, you only accept schools if you’re getting some kind of assurances they’ll step their game up financially to be competitive.

It’s not like the Pac 12 was going to stay in limbo at 10 teams waiting to be poached, so I don’t mind this move in light of the circumstances.

It’s true, it’s true. Trust me …

Btw, none of these types of moves would be necessary if Power 5 football adopts the break-off model I proposed in my How to Fix College Football thread.

It’s true, it’s true. Trust me …

Big 10 is looking at Oregon, Cal, Stanford, and Washington. Personally I’d take Oregon the rest are meh and clearly for the No Cal TV market.
