Crestview was an absolute force the second half
If javin ans Kalen Etzler both have great games ...
it would be hard to pick against them. Today it was all Javin.
And they still managed to beat a great RH team.
Berlin is great team as well. Good shooting today.
You don’t see that kind of talent that crestview has on the same team. Not in D4.
Too close to call !!
Can someone please post a link to video stream this game? I do not (and cannot) get Spectrum on cable or satellite. Thanks!
2011 Kaufman 6-5, Mast 6-7, Bonifant 6-7, Boyd 6-8I’m pretty sure the 2011 and 12 Hiland teams who had 3 guys at 6-6 or bigger in the starting lineup would like a say on that.

Crestview was outstanding. Shocked Hiland didn’t keep it close !
Yeah I don't think Hiland could compete with the athleticism and size of Crestview. People on the western side of the state have been saying it all year. honestly, Crestview didn't have to bring their A game today and still managed to build a 22 point lead.
Hiland has a great program. One of Ohio's best in small school division. They will manufacture another state run again.
I thought Crestview played beautiful basketball. With that kind of talent and size, opponents have a narrow path to win. If that talent and size plays and executes well, that path goes to slim and none. Really impressive.
It would have actually been neat to see Crestview play against some of the higher division champs. I know they played a couple of the schools in regionals and state over the summer. If I'm not mistaken, they played Columbus South and nearly beat them without at least one or two starters (One of the Etzlers was one of them). There was alot of buzz with our fans going into that game, knowing we had played Columbus South. Obviously Trotwood won, but South was up late and couldn't hit free throws.Imagine Crestview vs Blackhawk Christian FW the Indiana 1A champ= Ohio D4 size. Etzlers & Co vs Davidson &Fuerst & Co. That would be fun as both won pretty handily yesterday to make NE IN & NW Ohio proud.

I took in several games outside of ours at State. I seen very little separation between the finals teams in those D2 and D3 and Crestview. As for D1, I wasn't there to witness their finals.

Columbus South had Trotwood beat. Couldn't stick their free throws or finish in the fourth. Crestview competed with and almost beat Columbus South without a full roster over the summer. From what I watched, it would have been a very tight game with Trotwood.Might be true for a majority of the schools in D2/D3, but I think Trotwood Madison would beat Crestview by 20+.
Wren, Convoy, Middle Point, and Van Wert all met them at 127.Have you saw any of Blackhawk Christian from Ft Wayne? The few times I have saw them, they appear identical to Crestview. Both are champions in the smallest division/class in their respective states, and both probably could have won the next division up and could have played with the teams 2 divisions/classes higher. The teams aren't too far from each other and it would make one heck of a game. Was disappointed on the route back to the school though. They should have took the long way back through Wren and got an escort from the Wren FD into Convoy instead of going through Van Wert.

Trotwood would destroy Crestview. .. destroy
Yeah. I suppose we will never know. Curious. How many D1 basketball players on Trotwood's roster? D1 athletes? Maybe I'm underestimating their talent.I wouldn't put a whole lot on what happened in the summer, but that's just me. Just knowing what kind of schedule Crestview plays and their margins of victory for most of the year, Trotwood would beat most if not all of the teams by 40+ points. On any given day who knows I guess, but I don't see it.

It was 11:20 on their return and the gym cleared at 1:30am. 800 plus in attendance. I think they made the correct route, given the Homecoming and celebration they had planned in the HS Gym afterwards. But I get it. Everyone wants to see all towns involved. We are a very rural community though, as well. Hard to cover everyone. If you weren't there to witness, I'll tell you. That is what small communities are all about.
As for Blackhawk, never seen them play. They sound fantastic and that would be fun to see. Maybe some of their players will get to face one or two of ours in the Ohio/Indiana shootout (or whatever its called) in a few weeks.
