And if you've noticed, they're not nearly as dominant anymore because kids have more choices now.
How is it ok for private schools to collect the best talent from 30+ feeder schools, but a public school can't bring in a few buddies that want to play together? The privates have had the red carpet rolled out for them, and now that they tides are shifting, they claim abuse. It's pathetic and tremendously weak.
But like I've said, all of these suburban private schools think success is an entitlement to them, and they will double down on any narrative they can to try to regain that edge. But this time, it's not working, and as more years go by, the talent shift continues.
The privates can hoard talent, but no one else can!!! Let's not act like Purcell Marian is some power player in the landscape of city sports. They're more like a public school than a suburban private.
Public school demographics with the ability to recruit like a private school. Again, everyone knows that Purcell is recruiting kids. I know Jamar will say it isn't true and everyone will say it's because of stuff like the "championship culture" and "kids want to play together" or whatever, but we all know the truth. Guess what? Really good basketball players don't show up to MND for the Catholic education either. Some people are okay with the recruiting and I suppose that's up to each person's individual belief on high school sports, but the false reasoning behind all of it is weird.
