Columbus to host boys' volleyball tournament in 2015

Columbus seems to have made quite an impression on USA Volleyball, which will return to the city in 2015, bringing 15,000 participants and fans for its boys’ junior national championships.
Visitor spending is estimated at $10 million.
The Greater Columbus Sports Commission and Ohio Valley Region of USA Volleyball hosted the girls’ junior national championships last year.
“Columbus was a great partner ... in 2012 and will undoubtedly be ready to top that effort in hosting BJNC in 2015,” said USA Volleyball senior director Tom Pingel. “Columbus is within driving distance of a very large number of hotbeds for boys’ volleyball in the United States.”
The boys’ tournament will be held June 28 to July 5 that year. It is expected to attract 400-plus teams, 4,500 volleyball players aged 12 to 18 and more than 10,000 spectators.
