Just curious why he is no longer on OSU’s wrestling roster. I thought he had at least 1 more year of eligibility.

Did he transfer or just call it quits? Either way, best of luck to him whichever direction life takes him.

No idea, but he's had four years (one RS I think) at tOSU so maybe he got his degree and is moving on. He was not going to be more than a utility player this coming year, filling in when injuries arrive. BTW, he excelled at that role, wrestling at 149, 157 and 165 during his career. His junior year he got the starting role and qualified for NCAAs (at-large bid) and went 17-18 on the season. I always thought he was a small 165 and that 157 was probably his best weight. While not an AA caliber wrestler, you need guys like Cody in the room, filling in when needed and always giving a solid performance. And Cody did have a nasty cradle.

It’s an interesting dilemma for many. Had he gone to an NCAA DIII school he would be an NCAA All American in my opinion. NAIA also and maybe NCAA DII.

But he chose to compete with the very best at the highest level and held his own. Much respect.

I sat near his parents/family at the state championships in 2012. I don't recall what year he was then - maybe a soph. But he had just won a big match on Friday evening to get to the finals and that whole contingent of his family and friends were going crazy.

(just looked it up and he was 2nd that year at 106 as a sophomore, 3rd in 2013 at 126 and 4th in 2014 at 138. He was also 2nd in 2011 at 106 as a freshman. Looks like he hit a growth spurt after his soph. year when he was still at 106).

Hes doing great, he landed a great job, everything made sense for him to forgo his last year of eligibility and move on with life. I believe his girlfriend is a stud gymnast at Tosu, big ten champ i believe!
