You technically don’t get fired in HS. You get non renewed. Amazing ! Did a fine job. Another reason many programs fail or have little , long term success !

Don't know the situation, but at some schools, they prefer to have staff members coach. Maybe the previous coach was non staff, and now there is a teacher on staff that wants to coach. Thing's are not always crystal clear.

Absolutely and should be ! In some or most cases , weak boards/ administrations are generally to be blamed when there is a Bad hire or Fire

Recruiting who? Our best basketball was played with Trotwood kids. Stop. Rams underachieved last year big time. Should have made a deep run but Coach P was not healthy and they were not playing Trotwood bball. It hindered that program. Blanton steps in with a loaded young group and an undefeated JV and a 1 loss Freshman team. That program is loaded and Blanton is of the Rocky Rockhold tree. Watch out.

If Blanton studied Rocky and took the time to learned the details of the job year round this could be a good thing. When you looked at tournament runs Rocky could be the best Trotwood coach at least since 1990.

4 state tourney appearances 1 chip. Uh, Rockhold is the best Trotwood coach. His record clearly qualifies him for that. Blanton should be fine. His kids on that JV team played wayyy different than the varsity. He will have some new coach hurdles but it's his time. I think the program is in great hands!
