Hey there,

Just dropping by with the latest on Dad's progress. Yesterday was a pretty good day - he felt great throughout and even had some quality time chatting with us. The doctors swung by in the morning for their rounds and were once again impressed by how well his leg bones and tissue flap are healing. He kicked off rehab yesterday, which involves letting his leg "dangle" off a chair for 5 minutes before elevating it again, to promote blood flow down his leg.

Unfortunately, the doctors suspect he may have a torn rotator cuff in his left shoulder. They're planning to schedule an MRI sometime in the coming week, but we'll have to wait until he's disconnected from all his monitors since no metal can go into the MRI machine. Please keep him in your prayers as we navigate this next step.

On another note, the wound on his right leg where they harvested skin, tissue, blood vessels, and nerves will be closed up tomorrow. However, there's not enough skin there to cover it completely, so they'll need to perform a skin graft. He'll be heading back into surgery in the morning for that. Your specific prayers for a successful surgery are greatly appreciated.

Throughout our time here at the hospital, we've become familiar faces to all the surgeons, residents, nurses, PCA's, and everyone else involved in Dad's care. Words can't express how grateful we are for the incredible treatment he's received since day one. And leave it to Dad to lighten the mood by inviting the whole staff to a wrestling match!

We're deeply touched by the outpouring of prayers and love from everyone during this time. We truly believe in the power of healing prayer, so please continue to keep Dad in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you all again,
Mack & the family.

I wanted to make this point a couple weeks ago but never did. Coach Ryan is great imo. PSU is the anomaly and the rest of us are just waiting for Cael to make a mistake. OSU wrasslin is 100 times more relevant in the 20's than they were in the 80s or 90s. Disagree, find fault, whatever. Coach Ryan has accomplished much. Love this sport and this site.

Brands and Ryan are the only 2 to unseat PSU since 2010(a bat virus doesn't count) so appreciate what we got. Just 1 man's opinion. Go Bucks

Hey everyone,

Quick update on Dad's recovery:

He woke up feeling great today, which is a relief. Rest has been doing wonders for him.

Last night, they took him for an MRI on his shoulder, and unfortunately, he does have a rotator cuff tear. However, given the state of his legs, surgery for his shoulder isn't an immediate priority. We don't have a set treatment plan yet, but for now, it's about aiding his movement. Your prayers for his shoulder healing are much appreciated.

He's been joking around, comparing himself to a "one-legged dog" – classic Dad humor.

As for his legs, they're healing as well as can be expected. Each day, he's spending a bit more time rehabbing his left leg. Today, he managed to "dangle" it for 10 minutes, which involves shifting to the edge of the bed and letting it hang off for a bit before returning to his position.

We're all amazed at the medical team's efforts in his recovery.

Thanks again for your continued support and prayers!

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to give you all an update on Dad's progress.

Over the past few days, we've seen steady improvement. He's now able to dangle his leg for 30 minutes, which is faster progress than the doctors anticipated.

In his downtime, Dad has been enjoying conversations with family, doing some writing, and finding peace and comfort in worship music.

Overall, Dad is in good spirits. He's incredibly thankful for each day and recognizes the miracle of his survival. It's a testament to God's grace and mercy that he's still with us.

We're deeply grateful for all your prayers and support during this time. Your continued thoughts mean the world to us.

We'll keep you posted on any further developments. In the meantime, please keep those prayers coming!
