Claymont D-2 District Rankings #7

Well-known member
Please let me know any changes that I should make on weights, teams, or divisions, if you have any inside information.

I love doing these rankings, but as it has been pointed out before, they are just for fun. To any wrestlers who read these and feel that they are ranked too low, you may be right.

I am bound to be wrong on many of the rankings, but fortunately they have absolutely no impact on how anyone will finish at any tournament this season or any other year.

Why don't you help out and enlighten us since you know so much. People like this make me nuts. A guy is trying to do something cool and people complain but offer no solutions. If you did not mean to come off jerky then i apologize. But i think you did.
I couldn't say it any better, wow it's not like these guys do these for a living pure hobby and your super critical!!!

So who are they genius? Nice first post you rum dumb! Have the nuts to admit you're 'hotshots'. Smh

I am sorry your 9 little johnnie's are ranked #8 at the wrong weight classes when they should be ranked #7 at a lighter weight cause they majored someone at the preseason scrimmage.

He is probably the same guy that yells and berates a referee on Sunday morning during a 7 years old match thinking that its the end of the world !

Factor will be back at 145 for Sectionals

145 for Factor probably a good move.
138 has a 3X state finalist, a fourth place finisher, two state qualifiers and a MS State Champ.
145 has one state placer and one state qualifier.

Grant Debruin beat Mason Mustain 5-3 at the FAC league tournament.
Yes, that is a 5-3SV win, however, if you look at the body of work for both wrestlers this season Mustain is the obvious choice. Debruin has 8 losses of which only 1 is to a SQ and he was pinned twice. Mustain has 5 losses with 4 to SQ or SP, hasn't been pinned and kept all his losses very close. Debruin is a senior and Mustain is a sophomore.

My best guess is they meet in the finals at WCH section are on opposite sides at district. Mustain get through to semis at district and Debruin drops down in quarters match. Mustain gets though his go to match vs Aubiel and Debruin drops his go to vs Morris but wins his 5th place to be an alternate. Essentially, I think McClearn has it right.

The exciting part is we will know in just 12 days.

FAC Notes:
138: Caleb Lake (Chillicothe) defeated (8)Storm Duffy (Trace) 6-2
145: (2)McCale Callahan (Trace) did not wrestle. Hopefully. he will return.
195: Bryce Bennett (Miami Trace) defeated (8)Phil Waters 2-1
220: (8)Collier Brown (WCH) defeated (2)Kade Rawlins (McClain) 4-3 SV
285: (6)Grant DeBruin (Trace) defeated (3)Mason Mustain.

106: (5)Tate Fawcett (Claymont) did not wrestle
113: (4)Elijah Parrish- Claymont did not wrestle
113: (5)Tyler Beckley (Indian Valley) placed sixth (forfeited all matches after first round win)
170: (6)Jacob Armstrong (Indian Valley) wrestled 182. May be good move for post-season.
285: Owen Quillin (Indian Valley) defeated (6)Will Aubiel (Claymont) 6-2 in finals

285: (6)Grant DeBruin (Trace) defeated (3)Mason Mustain (second time this season) I think DeBruin deserves a little respect. He may have more losses, but he has beaten Mustain TWICE.
I know Debruin beat Virts in a dual. When was their second match? What was the result?

Aaron Little is Traces starter at 126. He has beat Allen twice (fall/10-7) and our backup beat Brown (6-4 OT I believe). At 160 Knapp beat Wilkerson by fall. At Heavy Debruin has a win in the only meeting between him and Mustain.

Was this not accurate? If it is not, I apologize.

Obviously I get what you’re saying but they wrestled the match and Debruin won. He also won the meeting a year ago. That makes him 2-0 against Mustain in his career so that has to mean something. But like you said we will find out in 12 days.

Walmat Thanks for the great breakdown! Gives a good idea on how deep and not seep some weights are. Going to be a very tough district tournament for sure. 1 week at a time though! Whose the other MS champ at 195 I know the kid from Indian creek won it. Whose the other?
