Challenge to the real men of Moeller

X has no need to recruit leatherhelmet and Moeller will never be a threat to X as far as enrollment goes. Anyone who has been around both high schools know that X will get the same kids year in and year out and so will Moeller. That being said I would love it if Moeller could get a nice stadium, nothing is better than big time home field games, even if you are the visitor.

BUT, I can understand the homeowners arguments if in fact the property value does decrease. I'm sure studies have been done on this very issues and the results do not favor the property value or else there the home owners would have no reason to prevent the consturction.

I personally think bringing Sycamore into picture is pretty bad. They're by far the best public school education-wise in the city, bringing in the 2nd most national merit students and sending people to high-level colleges without having to fork in the high tuition costs.

Whoever puts out that list of 100 best public schools in the US doesn't agree with you. Three Cincinnati schools made the list: Walnut Hills(66ish?), Indian Hill(67ish?), and Wyoming(99?). And as a student who for a while was looking at very small colleges, I didn't find one that would envy any of the campuses you mentioned.

And how exactly did this thread become about St. X academics? As a top student at Moeller, I don't really care how many national merit semi-finalists St. X has or that a group of St. X students are so obsessed with their high school that they all live in a house together at Notre Dame and are cool enough to call it the "The St. X House." I have a lot of friends at St. X but I can never understand why they expect me to care or be jealous of their school. If I wanted to go there I would have.

I just checked the Bill of Rights and nowhere does it say property owners have a right to maintain their property's value the entire time they hold it. These people should probably stop acting like they live off Camargo Club Ln. This area of Kenwood is less desirable to begin with because it is in Sycamore schools as opposed to Indian Hill.

I don't understand why the Coletti/Farmer family doesn't just buy Kenwood in its entirety and donate it to Moeller. That would solve so many headaches.

I for one, don't see how the homeowners even have an argument in this. As jcr985 showed they don't have a right to do anything, and I know I would love to have a high school football stadium in my backyard.

First of all, let me put this to rest. There are intangible differences between Moeller and St. X that make students chose one school or another. To make fun of Moeller's art department is rediculous. Many kids move on from the program to be in industrial design or architecture, which both are highly competitive and well compensated fields. To a large degree the balance of kids from Moeller will move on to major in business in college. I obviously don't know for certian, but I would not be surprised in the least if St. X produced more doctors and lawyers, and other specialists than Moeller. This would also explain a disparity in where the top kids go, granted Penn is the best business school in the nation. But with UD, OSU, and Miami so close to the area, you don't have to travel nearly as far as you do to find a prestigous business school as compared with medical school.

Secondly, the point of this post, the fields. Moeller surely needs to make an effort to be accomodating, but what ---- moves next to a school and expects them to never expand facilities? They should have seen this sort of thing coming. Moeller really should proceed with making the turf of the fields (which is basically the point of the project) and rely on whatever lighting systems they have been using to this point...like the sun for example. After the fields are built, then they can continue to fight for the lights.
