Josh Hutchens was the previous head coach and did an exceptional job in his seven seasons at the helm of the traditionally-strong Eagle wrestling program. Josh took an athletic director position in Daleville, Indiana. He is originally from Indiana and was an Indiana state high school champion and an NCAA qualifier at Purdue University. In his tenure at Ashland University, Josh produced three NCAA Champions -- Mike Labry (2017), Bret Romanzak (2018), and Luke Cramer (2018). Other All-Americans under coach Hutchens included Joe Brandt, Bryson Hall, Brent Fickel, Jordan Murphy, Tristen Weirich, Aidan Pasiuk, and Carson Speelman. Labry, Brandt, Romanzak, Cramer, Murphy, and Weirich earned All-American honors on multiple occasions.
