This was the first game of the Roy Kidd Bowl and it pretty much went the way, I believe many figured it would. Lexington Catholic has a pure stud in quarterback Beau Allen, while Madison Southern has a group of lunch pale carrying blue collar types. That is meant as a compliment to those Eagle players, who do the little things, that in the long run will only help them get better and better.

Allen would hit Dylan Bracken for a twenty four yard gain, at the 9:58 mark of the opening quarter.
Then Jackson Corbett took in a Allen pass and did not stop until he had gained thirty three yards. The seven play, sixty four yard drive came to an end, with a two yard touchdown run by Keith Brinkman, who used some big boy work, from his offensive line to get into the end zone,Out of the hold from Luke Powell,Trey Woody made this a 7-0 game, with his kick.

Tobias Storm used his legs to rush for a forty six yard run, at the 7:29 mark, of the opening quarter.
Storm made it clear that he will be a threat to run from the quarterback position all season long.
Storm would connect with Xavier Strothom for a seventeen yard hook up, with 6:23 left on the clock.
Then with 4:51 showing on the clock, it would be a one yard touchdown run by Isaiah Buttry to make this a 7-6 contest. Brennan Emnett would get an paw on the point after kick, off of the foot of Baylor Willis, keeping this a 7-6 game.

Lexington Catholic would be forced to punt at the 3:22 mark and a high snap led to the Allen punt being blocked by Henry Holtaus. The Eagles offense failed to take advantage of their good fortune and Lexington Catholic would make them pay a short time later.

A Allen pass to Corbett picked up forty seven yards, with 1:05 left in the quarter and then it was an forty four yard run from Brinkman for the touchdown. The point after kick made this a 14-6 game. That was a ninety one drive, on just two plays. Lexington Catholic showed that they have the skill to score often and as fast as a fat person can eat a triple cheese.

On the ensuing kick off Lexington Catholic used a beautiful bounce to recover their onside kick. Making the recovery was Tommy Knopp, at the 44.2 mark. Allen would then hit Nathan Schnurr, who was behind everyone on the defense, for forty seven yards. The score came with 6.5 seconds left, with the scoring play being a two yard run by Brinkman. The point after kick left us with a 21-6 score.

Madison Southern would begin a ten play, sixty five yard drive that resulted in their second score of the day. A fourteen yard run from Alex Knuckles at the 10:44 mark was a thing of beauty, with the offensive line strutting their stuff.Forty nine seconds later it was a A busted play on a bobbled snap, that resulted in a six yard gain from Storm.Buttry ended the drive with a three yard score. Bracken blocked Willis to leave this a 21-12 game, with 9:54 left in the half.

At the 3:08 mark of the second quarter the game started becoming a very one-sided one, a safety on a punt attempt by Jonah Farnstrom
made this a 23-12 game. Making the tackle for Lexington Catholic was Callahan. Then on the ensuing kick by the Eagles Schnurr picked the ball up and did not stop until, he had gone sixty yards for another Lexington Catholic score. The point after leaving this a 30-12 game, with 2:58 left in the half.

Lexington Catholic would get a Allen to Corbett touchdown, from thirty six yards out. The point after kick increased the lead to 37-12, with 1:01 left in the second quarter.

Just forty eight seconds into the second half,Brinkman rushed for twenty four yards as a helpless Eagles defense was left in the dust again.
Twenty six seconds later we had a 44-12 game, after Allen hit Trenton Neur for a forty four yard score and another point after kick was successful. This drive took all of three plays, while totaling sixty eight yards.

The rest of the game would fly by, with the running clock in effect.
The rest of the third quarter had three plays that stuck out to me.
Bracken would knock down a Storm pass, at the 10:07 mark.
Bracken should be able to have a good all around season, if he continues to play like he did in this one.
Storm used his legs again, at the 6:18 mark to pick up twenty five yards.
Buttry would would pick up twelve yards, at the 5;03 mark although the drive would end on the Lexington Catholic twelve yard line.

The final frame would see Brinkman set up the last score of the game, with a long run, with 10:25 left in this one.
Allen still in the game, would once again drop back to throw and the result was a twenty two yard touchdown pass to Luke Powell, The hold from Schnurr and the kick by Woody made this a 51-12 game. One has to wonder why Lexington Catholic was using the starter to run up the score in this one?
