New Boston Glenwood #1 in Division IV? There’s at least 10 teams from NW Ohio alone I’d put over them. NW is a bear in Division IV this year.

And then of course there's Richmond Heights.

The polls are a joke compared to the rankings of outlets like Prep Hoops Ohio. It looks like the Dayton Daily News voted Centerville, Tipp, and Greeneview #1 in their respective divisions. I'm surprised they didn't vote Cedarville #1 in D4, so I take it they must have had some degree of voter integrity there and given another local-ish team, Tri-Village, their #1 vote.

Too much local homerism and cluelessness about out-of-area teams to take the media voters in these rankings very seriously.

Two weeks ago Steve Junga at the Toledo Blade failed to vote for Berlin Hiland or Fort Loramie girls - chew on that! I mean don't vote if that's the way you are going to do things.

One of the flaws of polls is voters often look at only records when voting on teams from outside of their local area.

In D4 Richmond Heights is 2-3, but the three losses are to St. Ed's, St. Ignatius, and Akron SVSM by an average of 10 points. There's no way there's eight teams in D4 that could match or exceed that level of performance against the NE district parochial powerhouses.

D3 #1 Harvest Prep and #4 Ottawa Glandorf meet at OG on Feb 6th as part of the Winter Classic. Not sure about fans being allowed but should be a good day of basketball. It's still on as far as I know

D1 #4 Gahanna Lincoln vs Toledo St Francis

D2 #1 Lima Shawnee vs Trotwood Madison

D3 #4 OG vs D3 #1 Harvest Prep

D4 #4 Ottoville vs Toledo Rogers

Ottoville also plays Shawnee

Tiffin Calvert has also added a game against Div. II Delaware Buckeye Valley

I still would put Moe at 1. May have 3 losses, but until someone knocks them off in March they're my #1.
Shawnee playing against Lima Sr and Trotwood will show just how good they are.
D3 seems a little down this year.
D4 is NW Ohio vs Richmond Heights. Hopefully state semi has both regions not playing each other!!!!

Too bad we didn’t get to see St. Edward play Moeller last year. St. Ed’s had 3 four year starters on the team and only had one loss last year and this current team is undefeated this far.

Agree very good team. But for those voting they do have 3 losses (although 2 out of state to very good teams). Losing to Elder hurt them though. Good thing polls mean jack squat and we'll see come tourney time.

It would have been a repeat of the year before . . . except for bald head Meechie trying to smack talk Miles McBride . . . how has that worked out for him???

Not sure about D3 being down:

1, Canal Winchester Harvest Prep (10) 8-0 165
2, Worthington Christian (3) 12-1 153
3, Cle. Hts. Lutheran E. (5) 7-0 149
4, Ottawa-Glandorf (1) 10-1 126

Same 4 as every other year are at the top
