About the 30-6 I own. I have shot all of my 30-6 in the past five years in my M1 Garand. Five months ago I bought a Winchester M1917 that was made in September 1917. It looks like it is in decent shape and in good working order. I will have it checked out before I shoot but I do plan on shooting it some time over the summer. In my Garand, I limit the ammo to 150 grains as that is what it was designed to use. I will be using the same in my M1917.
Has anyone else had any experience with a M1917, 1903 Springfield or any other old military rifle? What has been your experience with ammo? I am just about out of the 500 rounds of old Greek military ammo I bought from the CMP and will begin dipping into my commercial stash (all still limited to 150 grains).
Let me know if you have any similar experience.
