Alter Vs Wyoming

Should be a great game. Won’t be able to attend but hope can view it Online.
I had read somewhere that there are a few key injuries on both side of the ball. Any chance those guys will be back?

Can't see Wyoming scoring more than two touchdowns. Alter 24-10.
Unless Wyoming has a terrible defensive showing Alter will not put up 24 points in this game. With a substantially better offense Alter beat Wyoming last year in the playoffs 17-0.
Interesting stat, in the regular season 8 of the 10 games Alter played were against top 150 teams in Ohio. Wyoming didn't play one team in the top 150 this year. We will see if that has any bearing on the outcome.

I was wondering about Wyoming's schedule vs Alter's and how much that can be factored into a prediction. Drew Pasteur has Alter by 1. I suspect this schedule difference will be evident Friday night.

Alters Offense was definitely stronger last year however the Alter defense is as good if not better this year didn’t Wyoming have a powerful offense last year with a stud Qb and they got shut out?

Alters offense is getting healthier daily. They did score 30+ on D3 CJ I would not count out their offense.

Time will tell if this years defense is stronger than last years. In the first 5 playoffs games Alter gave up a TOTAL of 9 points.
I do think last year's offense being able to move the ball consistently helped out the defense. This year the defense has been been put in some rough situations.

Wow did not know it was only 9 points!

I see it every year and never really say it. And they may beat Alter Friday. But Wyoming just beats up on pillows during the regular season. It makes me laugh seeing them ranked in polls just because they have beat pillows basically. If Alters offense can score points, I trust their defense so the knights win. If they don’t score more than 2+ as mentioned above I see them losing.

I think sophmore Drew Cripps is gonna go off again and lead the nights to a 21-10 win over the cowboys. In my opinion he's one of the best backs in the state and maybe the best sophomore in the state. If those slot recievers block like they did against Eaton i think Alter will roll to victory

Boomer sooner, I think you got it right. Another sophomore that's pretty darn good is the kid from CM. This might be a match up down the road.

Wyoming's defense held Indian Hill's stud sophomore running back to under 60 yds. Should be a fun one on Friday.

Problem is Alter has 2-3 other backs that are pretty good also. If the starting QB is back that a problem for Wyoming as well.

Do you know something no one else does concerning the original QB starter coming back? He's been out since week 2. I assumed he was done for the year.

Not really. Others on Yappi have mentioned it.
Edit: the GCL Coed website isn’t reporting any stats for Qb Connor from Fridays game. I know there was discussion he was returning, looks like not yet.

He did not play Friday. Being a 4 year starter if he does make it back for the playoffs it would certainly help that Alter offense.

Ok thanks. Noticed Alter only threw 4 passes on Friday. Might have to mix it up a little more v Wyoming.
We will see, It seems like Alter still has some receiving power considering they have 2 returning WR's from last years team. None of them have made much happen this year though, I'm assuming this is given the QB situation.

Alter's reciever core is actually very talented this season but bad qb play has really tarnished all their seasons. Led by All League receiver James Nagle and Senior Hawes, this is a very experienced group, excluded from their 2 sophomores who have been playing alright this year. I think if Connor plays this week and he uses the weapons he has, that one sophomore slot and James Nagle could cause some major damage

I think Alter has a great shot at winning this game. If Noah Jones and Drew Cripps can get the run game going like they did against Eaton and that defense stops the pass attack of Wyoming I don't see them losing this game. Rushing for over 300 yards in one game is insane. I think Alter really only needs to score 10-14 points to win this game with the way there defense has been playing.

Alter scoring points has been an issue, friend of mine says little mistakes seem to hurt. I heard that a TD got called back vs Eaton and a fumble on the 5 yard line otherwise it would of been considered a blow out... ( if 28-0 is a blow out )
Question, it appears the Wyoming Qb likes to throw the ball but in looking at stats on CHL site he is not a big runner? 1900 yards is respectable but see just under 600 of those came vs Shorter and Finneytown. Alter seems to be able to flush QB's out of the pocket. doesn't sound like he is comfortable running the ball.

Won't be able to attend but hoping to watch it online.Does Wyoming stream?

This will be Alters toughest opponent until the regional finals. Should easily handle next week's opponent. Doesn't really matter who.

Here's how those pillow schedules have hurt Wyoming over the last 8 years. I think it's time to change the record on that narrative. There aren't many schools in the state that wouldn't gladly take these results
  • 2016- 3rd round
  • 2017- 3rd round
  • 2018- State Champs
  • 2019- Regional final
  • 2020-Regional final
  • 2021- 3rd round
  • 2022- State runner-up
  • 2023- Regional semifinal

Can't really argue with those results. To play devils advocate though I do believe playing "pillow" schedules allows teams to rest star players more who are dealing with lingering issues. Wyoming wouldve beat 7 of those teams this year with their whole starting backfield out IMO.
Out of curiosity what do you think Wyomings record would be this year if they played Alters schedule?
