Per OSSCA website:

The OSSCA will release All-State Teams, Coaching Honors, and Special Honors by Friday, November 20. The All-State selection meeting was held a week later than normal and it generally takes the OSSCA two weeks to get everything in place before awards are announced. The OSSCA is working on finalizing everything and our goal is to release all honors by Friday, November 20. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

ALGORITHM broken!!! Certain schools STOLE the 1st team all state list!! RECOUNT!!! STOP THE STEAL!!

Congrats to all the girls who earned these awards. Not sure how there are no Freshman on this list 1st or 2nd team across all divisions.

Miamisburg Freshman Cummings led GWOC in goals and assists and school did the best they have ever done in league and playoffs.

Waynesville Freshman Erbach led all searchable freshman in Goals with 25 and had double digit assists, scored winning goals in all big games. Team broke past district playoffs for first time in over 10 years.

Milford Freshman Manning was 2nd in ECC in goals and total points missed 4 games for injury and those were only games they lost.

I'm sure there are other freshman that made huge impact on their teams, leagues, playoffs.....Those 3 missing alone seems pretty suspect to me. While upper classmen from their schools made 1st or 2nd team? Freshman making that kind of impact is way more impressive to me than Juniors and Seniors.

I believe a team can only nominate a limited amount of players for “All Ohio” status, so I’m guessing the coaches went with the vets figuring the younger kids have 3 more chances to be nominated.

Definitely not saying it’s right, but that would be my assumption. I know our school was only able to nominate 1 for All OH.

Teams can nominate as many as they would like, but the reality is there are a lot of other coaches in that room advocating for their own players. With the teams mentioned above, if you're not the #1 player on your team, you're most likely not going to be put up/earn state honors.

NOT true- only first team ALL DISTRICT players are even eligible for ALL STATE honors. And YES, its been an 'unspoken' rule that 99.9% of ALL STATE players are NOT freshman unless a VERY rare situation.

Most districts don't have 1st and 2nd Team, including Cincinnati. In the Southwest district (Cincinnati) coaches can nominate 1st or 2nd team all conference players for district honors. Each district is allotted a certain number of All Ohio honorees based on membership. Right or wrong, it's how it is.
No rule, spoken or unspoken, of freshmen getting state honors. The "very rare situation" would be that they are better than everyone else, regardless of age.

We all know that a good percentage of All-Ohio honorees are "place fillers". The level of play in Southeast OH VS Southwest OH is so far apart that numerous deserving players are left off every year for players who are "great", for their area. I'm sure some talented freshmen are actually better players than some on the list as well. One good way to validate this is take honorees from any year and see how many have not received D1 or D2 offers, and then there will be many more NOT honored found to be playing at the next level.

All Ohio teams are a reflection of the top vote getters in each district's All-District voting. So if your favorite player didn't get a nom, it is cause their district didn't vote them high enough in that process.

Very naive post to say the least.
