2024 Toledo Central Catholic Football

CC is staying in D3, R10.

Not too bad for a rebuilding year, but I would've loved to move back up to D2.
I really want them in D2. Maybe next time. Enrollment will be close to 700 next year with a large freshman class. If that trend continues, they will move up for sure.

Bummer. I knew Glenville wouldn’t bump all the way up to D2, but I was hoping TCC would. I like having a lot of high quality programs in D2. R6 is always better, and more fun, with TCC in it.
Wholeheartedly agree. I very much prefer battling Avon, Avon Lake, Highland, AW, SJJ and more than steamrolling our way through R10. Not sure it will be the case again for this year, but hoping we bump back up in 2025.

If it was more certain TCC was locked into D3 for a few years a home and home with Avon would be great, but I don’t think either coach would want it if there is any chance of them being in the same region in any of those seasons.

Definitely won't be the case this year. Benedictine just moved over to R10.

Can TCC request to bump up a Division?

No. Neither can Marion Local, or Kirtland, or Glenville. Team are not allowed to bump up a division - they can only bump up to D1. Not sure what OHSAA's reasoning for that was but pretty much precludes the lower divisions. I am not aware of any D2 or D3's opting in either.

TCC AND Benedictine. There goes all of my excitement for this season. Seems pretty pointless to care now.

I wouldn't throw the towel in just yet. Season hasn't even started yet and there are a fair amount of questions to this year's CC team. They have their stars in Fryzel and Singleton and studs in Morgan, but the supporting cast behind them will largely determine if they truly "reload" from last year.

Ill never understand fans like you. What about the other 10-12 weeks of the season a good team would play before running into a TCC type team? Is there no league championship to play for? No rivalries?

If the referendum passes in May, they can request a move to Division I. Can't request a move to Division II.

If the referendum doesn't pass, can't request a bump up at all.

I actually like that to happen, but it should come with a stipulation that if you choose to move up to D-1 ! You must stay for at least one or two years!
You have a great senior class move up and then go hide back to your depths! Doesn’t seem fair to get to choose up for just a year! Make it at least 2 years. So the teams can put skin in game

Never forget TCC in the 2013 playoffs. After coming off the 2012 title, we got moved down to D3 and were smashing everyone all year. Until we got Clyded and were upset in the regional final. Anything can happen.
Bingo. As a Glenville follower, I painfully know more than I’d like to know that upsets happen in the playoffs :(

Never forget those losses, especially come playoff time, so you don't have a repeat of said losses. 3 state titles for the Irish since then, I'd say they handled that quite well.

This is our best and probably last shot at an extended playoff run in a while. Of course the first 10 weeks matter, and I'll enjoy them. But it's just....ugh. Had high hopes for the 2nd season.

Oh well. It is what it is, and we played CC tough last year as is. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.
