2024 Eastern Buckeye Conference

Carrollton still running a wing T type of offense? If so can they play keep away long enough to sustain drives and keep the ball from WB's quick strike offense?

Any coaches in the conference on the hot seat? Looking at the records only Branch and Carrolltown oughta be safe . Thoughts, opinions, insider information?

Even though alliance isn’t doing the greatest, I doubt Goodman is in the hot seat. He’s the AD and I don’t think either side is looking to part ways, no matter how bad he’s doing or the team is performing.

Maybe only salems coach would be my guess. Marlington and Minerva will probably give their coaches a few more years.

I don’t think he on the seat yet , but why do you think he gets a free pass ?

I feel like him coming in and getting the AD position shows they are in it for the long haul. But that’s just my opinion. Seeing the team in action and how the coaching staff was at the games, something has to change or it’s gonna be rough the next few years.

Minerva is obviously the hottest seat in the conference but who realistically wants that job? Lack of any interest in probably the saving grace there

Here are a couple interesting statistics:
The West Branch varsity football team (8-0) has outscored its opponents, 352-54, including six running clock games.
The West Branch junior varsity football team (also 8-0) has outscored its opponents, 309-41, including five shutouts.

Heading into Friday's night's meeting, West Branch has won 13 straight games against Carrollton, the longest winning streak by one league member (NBC turned EBC) against another. The Mahoning County Warriors lead the series, 36-9.

I saw one of Carrollton's games and their defense and running game were very solid and they now have a highly-improved passing game. I believe CHS (6-2) threw three touchdown passes last week. Their only losses this season were to a pair of tough teams in Triway (6-2) and Ridgewood (7-1) who have a combined record of 13-3.

West Branch is so very fortunate to have Tim Cooper, a disciple of the Air Raid offense, as its head coach. West Branch has always been a prominent passing football program (look at the long list of All-Ohio quarterbacks the school has produced going all the way back to the 1970's). Cooper's offense and West Branch are a perfect marriage. Cooper's record since he took over the play-calling duties in 2020 is 52-7.

He’s a good coach an all but chill brother. You sounding like you got that man’s poster on your wall or something. I’ll sing his praises if he wins the region this year. He ain’t beating lake catholic or glenville or Perry on the lake .

I wonder why all the old-school post

I wonder why all the old-school posters have gone away on here , Brother . I chose to have a different opinion on here and was called a jagoff , a baseball dad, a band member , a guy wearing his letterman jacket etc. . I’m pretty sure I know the guy you’re criticizing and he has forgotten more about sports than you or just about anyone else on here will ever know. But like most people from my area he’s a very nice guy.. I’m tired of being nice. I apologize in advance to him because I know he would not like this. but I’m tired of the youth running the world.

First and foremost I ain’t criticizing your coach . I’m saying your dude was singing his praises a little strong my man. Secondly I ain’t young brother so make what you want out of that. Also, realistically yall is in arguably the toughest region in the state you got a good chance of going all the way if you make it through there .
If I’m criticizing any coach it’s gonna be ours . We ain’t even gonna make the playoffs with 16 teams in it .

That’s because all Goodman does is look at his play sheet and shake his head🤣. Lost a lot of talent from the past few years. I’m not sure if he’s a very good coach. Better than me forsure but that’s not saying much.

By a lot of people's "input" on this thread you'd think you're all the next Nick Saban...

Everyone on this thread sounds like such clowns🤡

I coached for a handful of years at Mooney, and in Cincy area prior to that. Moved to Beloit area when I retired and gradually gravitated towards WB program. I have tremendous respect for high school coaches. Alliance has been super competitive for as long as I could remember. Teams have up and down years...anyone with any sense of knowledge would know that.

WB the first couple years I was in town was not very good. Peaks and valleys. Right now WB going through one of those good runs. Some schools are going through massive talent pools. Then it re-corrects itself after a few years. High school football in all divisions and regions are wild this year. St. Vincent St Mary has 1 win; they've been dominate for years with 7-10 win seasons in 2017-2021 IT HAPPENS EVERYWHERE! Same story at Mooney. We were dominate for those few years, took a dip then...once again, IT HAPPENS.

The support though from the school and community in those down years still remained tremendous, best programs and consistent programs usually maintain the support even through the down years. I always laughed at the "fans" that criticized and questioned everything after one or two down years, then jumped right back on board; but once again anyone with any sense would get & understand that!

As a former coach, it's easy to just go after coaches when you're just sitting in the stands watching as a "casual" fan; not looking at any film or the Xs and Os, nor understanding any of it for that matter.

Hey coach, hope all is well

Perhaps you can take all that knowledge and go assist Goodman. I think that it’d be better suited than talking to a clown fan on a message board. But what do I know?

Dig it ....did they go unbeaten? I know Alliance only loss in the league was against them 14-12.....Minerva cancelled today with Marlington next week
Chocolate, how have you been? I believe they did win all the league games, but also think most of the games were close. Never actually witnessed any of their games, so I really don't know much

Congrats to West Branch on its fifth consecutive league championship. Warriors go for their fifth 10-0 season at home against Salem next Friday.

Here are the offensive points scored and defensive points allowed per-game averages for Eastern Buckeye Conference teams after Week 9 of the high school football season.

OFFENSIVE POINTS PER GAME:
1. West Branch (45.0 ppg.)
2. Salem (24.3 ppg.)
3. Alliance (18.6 ppg.)
4. Carrollton (17.1 ppg.)
5. Marlington (16.6 ppg.)
6. Minerva (3.3 ppg.)

DEFENSIVE POINTS ALLOWED PER GAME:
1. West Branch (6.6 ppg.)
2. Salem (20.1 ppg.)
3. Carrollton (21.7 ppg.)
4. Alliance (31.5 ppg.)
5. Marlington (32.4 ppg.)
6. Minerva (37.2 ppg.)

Only two EBC teams in the 16 team playoffs this year, and if Salem somehow pulls off the upset week 10 to make it three they're rewarded with a trip to Glenville. What a rough year for the conference

Does anybody know what teams made playoffs from EBC since the playoffs was expanded to 16 teams. I’m just thinking two prolly ain’t much worse than usual. We only got 6 teams and it ain’t like Minerva has been a playoff quality team since at least about 2013-14.
