Well, looks like everyone (or nearly everyone) was out to start their 2020 campaigns leading to the State meet in June. A couple of highlights:
Youngstown State
60m (Girls ) - Serena Clark (Lakota East) - 7.61 sec. (PR 7.52). Clark is = #9 all-time currently.
Chante' Clinkscale (Set the Pace TC - Niles McKinley) just misses out of the top-30 all-time with her 7.75 sec. PR in 2nd to move to #31 all-time.
Akron PV Convention
PV (Girls) - Super-soph and National Outdoor Freshmen Record-Holder, Kenna Stimmel (Castalia Margaretta) raised her indoor PR from 11' 6" to 12' 10 ¾" (no surprise there) in placing 2nd in the Women's Open A. This moves her to #5 all-time Ohio indoor! Anyone know if she's vaulting out at the Reno PV Convention next weekend?
PV (Boys) - Dalton Shepler (Vandalia Butler) goes over 16' again for 2nd place in the Open Men's competition. Little Miami's Jed Sisco ups is PR a foot to 15' 0 1/2" for 2nd in the Open Men A2 division.
OSU Buckeye HS Qualifier #1
Long Jump (Girls) - Lakota East's Azariyah Bryant moves into a tie for #29 all-time with her 18' 4 ¼" win. Loveland's Miya Barnes was a close 2nd at 18' 2 ½" for #37 all-time.
Shot Put (Boys) - Gabe Hickman (Cincinnati Turpin) took the overall yearly lead by ¾" with his 57' 6 ¾" PR win. It'll take at least 60' 8 ½" to crack the top-30 all-time indoors.
Otterbein College HS #1
Pole Vault (Boys) - Hunter Garretson (Newcomerstown) joins the 16' 0" list (I count at least 13 all-time over 16' indoor - still working on that list - due out 2021 hopefully) with his win.
That's it, so far.
Will update after tomorrow's meets.
