I am truly ashamed of being an adult with the way people are treating Josh Hader. He was 17 folks, stop being so dang judgmental. Think about when you were a teenager....goodness.... SMH

If you’re 17 you should know what you can and cannot say. This will all be forgotten once the next set of news comes along anyway. But I don’t agree with you here. What he said was horrible.
 
I'm really not sure how this continues to happen? I understand kids don't understand things they post on social media may come back to haunt them. We've all done things at that age we aren't proud of. But why wouldn't someone's management team go through every single post and delete those that could be seen as negative? Or just delete the account and start over.

I'll answer this two ways.

First of all, I'm not sure that you can ever fully delete social media posts. I think once they are out there, and they are liked/ retweeted, etc. I don't think there is any turning back. Maybe so, maybe not, I'm not sure.

The second is my disgust is with the adults, and more pointed to the national media. At what age do we hold people accountable? And under what circumstances to we bring this stuff up? I don't, and never consider this "news". The sole purpose of this is to drag a kids reputation through the mud. Hader is an american citizen. He doesn't have to "like" gays or accept them or other races. It's a choice. This always fascinates me that liberals want us to accept and be agreeable to anything and everything, unless it doesn't fit their narrative??? Can we do any kind of social media checking on the people who've posted nasty and disparaging comments about our President?? Why is that any different than this?

Look, EVEN IF Hader still believed this way, what's the problem? We have people of other races who hate white people. But that's ok?

Why do you think this is?? I have a clue. Folks, the general public is TIRED of the media creating news and not reporting it. 98% of us could care less what Josh Hader's thoughs were as a 17 year old. Very few of us didn't do anything as a teenager we wanted to have back.

This is the Trump affect on the media folks. Many don't trust the national media because of this kind of crap that keeps popping up.

I hope you're not talking about sports during work hours regardless. That's probably a reason you haven't received a raise in a half decade.

98% of us could care less what Josh Hader's thoughs were as a 17 year old.

Obviously there is a segment of low lifes who like to just crush successful people. I just don't understand that. And sadly the national media at the came could have just crushed this in it's infancy rather than let it blow up. Most simply don't care about this stuff.
 
So Josh Hader got a standing ovation in Milwaukee with his first appearance after the all star game. Most of the world is tired of the PC whack jobs and understand that 17 year old kids make mistakes and don't hold them down forever. The more the left pushes, the worse it gets for them. Oh sure, they make alot of noise and attract attention to their causes, but at the end of the day the court of public opinion is what matters. It's how our current president got elected.

If his account would've been wiped say when it was apparent he'd be drafted, the only way you'd be able to see it would be via screen shot. Any Like or Retweet would've been gone.

I agree that judging someone over something they put online as a teen is a little overboard. But it was discovered/released during a dead period in sports. Someone on Twitter did an advance search and retweeted their findings. The media had no stories for the week and ran with it.

I do find it funny that you strongly think the NFL players should be mandated to stand for the National Anthem or be fined/suspended/released for doing something allowed under their Civil Rights but think it's fine for a white male to be openly racist and anti-gay.

Also, the problem is he has teammates, people in the organization and fans that fall under those he made remarks about. It's OK to have those opinions but no organization would want someone to cause a divide between any of the groups he mentioned. Just like the easiest way to get fired from any job would be to make racist or sexual orientation remarks at the workplace/online and have coworkers object.

Fair points, don't blame a slow sports week on this...the national media feeds on stuff like this, it deals with gays and minorities. They'll continue to pound away at this, believe me.

I could care less about the anthem. I've even said they can do away with the anthem before games, or leave the teams in the locker rooms. Doesn't matter to me at all. But if your employer (who BTW pays you very very well) asks you to do something small like stand for the anthem, I can't get why you wouldn't. Standing for the anthem does not mean you are in full agreement of everything that goes on the USA. For some reason guys have decided they are going to push their political thoughts into a football game. They have 6 days and 20 other hours during the week to push their agendas...

I'm going to guess that in an arena like pro sports, he's had lots of black teammates and no one has ever had an issue with the guy?? This is crap and should not had seen the light of day. Yes they could have found it, but someone who has some common sense should have shut it down, rather than allowing the media to have open season on this kid.

The irony of this is the standing ovation over the weekend got little to no reporting, other than people being ticked because Hader got an ovation.

So what's the punishment, should he be kicked out of baseball for a tweet he put out at age 16-17 years old?? :Ohno: This silliness has to stop.

Here is the crux of 14Red's complaint:
Hader is being criticized because he tweeted about hating blacks and gays.

14Red's problem isn't with the media or liberals unfairly targeting Hader's earlier tweets (although I'm sympathetic to the fact that people can change as they gain maturity).

14Red's complaint is rooted in the fact that the criticism is based on the fact that we as a society deem hatred toward blacks and gays SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY ARE BLACK AND/OR GAY as unacceptable.

He actually AGREES with Hader's youthful tweets.

How in the world do you come up with this garbage??? It's nice that you can just attach what the "crux" of my thoughts are???

I never agreed with Hader's tweets. My frustration is with the national media and liberal talking heads who want to bury a kid for some silly tweets he made when he was 17 years old. Good Lord I hope you don't want to be held to everything you espoused as a teenager.

And I found if funny that all of the talking heads danced around this topic the last few days, except our good friend Jason Whitlock - who happens to be black. Please google Whitlock Josh Hader and see what his thoughts were on the topic.

The standing ovation was for how the kid has handled himself the last 6 days, after his world was turned upside down with some silly tweets he put out 7 years ago when he was a youth. Now I'm generally a guy who feels you made your bed, lie in it. But I just think the national media and social media really went after this kid unfairly. To even put out there that he still has a job as a major league pitcher while Kaepernik can't get a job in the NFL is just silliness. Kaepernik isn't a QB in the NFL because he's not good enough, period.
