The 2011 Philo Electric Junior High Invitational will be held on Saturday January 15, 2011 (MLK Weekend) at Philo Junior High School. We have worked hard to make this the premier in-season tournament in Ohio. NEW FOR THIS YEAR: Any wrestler who is not in the top 32 seeds and does not make it into the main tournament will be placed in a double-elimination exhibition tournament at Philo High School where he/she will have 2-5 matches. The tournament at the high school will use the same bracket we use in the main tournament and will start at approximately 10:30 a.m. and end by 7 p.m. There will be shuttle busses running between the high school and junior high all day. There will also be concessions at both locations.
For anyone wishing to reserve hotel rooms for the tournament, the official hotel for the tournament is Super 8, 2440 National Road, Zanesville, OH 43701 – Phone (740) 455-3124. Tournament rate is $40 per room. Mention Philo Wrestling when making reservations. This hotel only has basic amenities; it does not have an indoor pool or hot tub. The secondary hotel for the tournament is the Ramada Hotel and Conference Center, 4645 East Pike, Zanesville, OH 43701 – Phone (740) 453-0771. Tournament rate is $50 per room. Mention Philo Wrestling when making reservations. This hotel has an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna and restaurant.
In order to help teams pay for hotel rooms, our tournament apparel supplier, A+ Sportswear, has agreed to pay for hotel rooms for any teams that do a team spiritwear sale through them. 40 items sold would get your team 4 free rooms, 50 items = 5 rooms, 60 items = 6 rooms, etc. A copy of a sample order sheet is included with this mailing. Any teams that do not need rooms but would like to just make some extra money for your program or to pay for your tournament entry fee could use A+ Sportswear also. After you receive your email confirmation, you will have 30 days to return your contract in order to guarantee your spot. We will limit the tournament to 65 teams. Only out-of-state teams will be accepted after we reach 60 teams. Once we have reached the limit, we will place teams on a waiting list in the order that they contacted us. An up-to-date team list and waiting list will be kept on this thread at http://www.ohiochatter.com.
