SCC v Bethel was not a very good match. SCC controlled posession and Bethel tried to play extremely direct. Not very pretty soccer. 2-1 at half and Central was content to defend and counter. Bethel didn't make any adjustments and kept trying to pump balls over the top. There was no answer defensively for Halula and Latham.

Yes. Using the dangerous method of comparative scores, either team can win:

Summit:
Mariemont 0-1 L (regular season), 1-0 W (tournament)
SCC: 0-1 L (regular season)

Seven Hills:
Mariemont 2-2 T (regular season)
SCC 1-0 W (regular season)

CHCA:
Mariemont 0-4 L (regular season), 2-1 W (tournament)
SCC 1-0 W (regular season)

Dayton Christian
Mariemont 2-1 W (tournament in pks)
SCC 2-0 W (regular season)

SCC is ranked #1 in the state and has the pedigree, but Mariemont has played excellent soccer, especially in the tournament, over the past 4-5 years. The Latham (56 goals!) v. Mariemont defense match-up will be interesting. Mariemont has the "team of destiny" tag with dying second goals in two of last three games (DC & Summit) and two second half come from behind victories (DC and CHCA). SCC has gone thru this tournament without a tense moment (never been behind) and largely stormed thru the season (only the loss to Summit).

SCC is the favorite, but anyone who counts Mariemont out doesn't understand high school soccer or the quality of the team.
