Good to hear. I think I wrote a check for Brandon to help keep that website going back in the early 2000’s?

Remembering the Youngstown City Series and Steel Valley Conference

I can recall playing on the single Universal machine that was sitting in the WWR locker room when I was a kid in the late 60's and early 70's. It was the entirety of the weight program in that era. Buster Cannon later created a top notch(for the time) weight program. We had one at Harding also...

I don't remember that particular game, but IIRC, He set either a MSU or Big Ten sack record? I can't remember if it was for a season or career. I thought Greg Zackeroff (OSU) was on that Harding team also but he may have graduated the year prior.

Ytown: I am curious, no Travis Davis(WGH/MSU) on the SVC team? That was his senior year, right? Dave Arnold is Steve’s younger brother. I don’t recall a Steve Koneval at BW but we got 100 freshman players a year back in the day when we owned Mount and not the other way around.

Steve Arnold steps down as Warren G Harding head coach

My first varsity plays were against Big Red my sophomore year in '78. (C&B remembers this game well) We were up big and they stuck me in for the final series. My first play was a trap and I pancaked the Tackle. I couldn't wait for film session on Saturday morning to see it in front of the whole...

Remembering the Youngstown City Series and Steel Valley Conference

Great post. I was at the Rubber Bowl that night as a ten year old with my dad and Uncle. I was blessed to watch a hometown team in the State Finals three years in a row. Thanks for adding the interesting details.
