UC Woman’s Soccer Fall Season

UCs home opener postponed due to covid concerns with Houston ... Texas governor just did away with most precautions.
That goes into effect on March 10. There isn't any correlation there. Let's not make it seem like there is. The announcement of the mask mandates for Texas happened after the UC postponement too. Nothing to do with the decision.

I'm not saying that the 2 had anything to do with each other. I just find it rather ironic. As for meathead jed, I prefer to listen to the experts including a close relative of mine who is an epidemiologist and teaches at a major research university ... in Texas. But hey, be a sheep and follow the guidance of those less educated.

Busy week:

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati soccer team announced several changes to its schedule Thursday, including adding a home matchup with Notre Dame.

After playing its first two matches on the road, UC will gear up for a five-game homestand at Gettler Stadium. The Bearcats added a matchup with Notre Dame (Thurs., March 11), will play Temple as scheduled (Sun., March 14), moved the Memphis game, originally scheduled for Feb. 14 to Thursday, March 18, moved the Tennessee matchup (Sun., March 21) and rescheduling a postponed game against Houston (Wed., March 24).

Very nice to see how aggressive they are in giving the ladies these opportunities.

From ANYONE. The evil midget, ANY doctor from ANY country.....ANYONE. HELLO?? Ummm, it would seem SOMEONE HAD TO HAVE done a study right? In the ENTIRE WORLD, SOMEONE did one right?? SOMEONE ANYONE?? I’m just surprised that the “QAnon Shaman” and Jed the Juvenile Jackass are not the same person. Or are they . . . ?

Against my better judgment, I'll weigh in. The 99.7% survival rate is misleading. Roughly 15% of cases are seriousness to require hospitalization. Many of those cases end up in the ICU. So, without access to good medical care, the mortality rate would be much higher. Because COVID-19 spreads easily, the number of cases can easily become a big number, so big that that 15% that require hospitalization overwhelms hospitals and more people start dying. So, wearing masks, social distancing, etc are part of an effort to reduce the spread; which saves lives.

As to the science of mask wearing, there have been numerous scientific studies that prove that wearing masks reduces transmission of the virus

I don't really want to get into this fight but I have a couple of thoughts. 1. There are a number of studies (many done in Europe) that show that masking really does not stop the spread. I mean look at California's numbers and they have some of the strongest shutdowns and mandates. However, wearing a mask can't hurt so why not? 2. Also, the population that gets really sick and may go to the hospital and ICU is fairly well identified and targeted mandated steps for that population class really would have had a big benefit. Generic, ubiquitous mandates were not as effective as targeted mandates would have been in opinion.

Yeah you should have stayed out of it- you are out of your 'research league' here- with the recruiting DEAD PERIOD I have time to LEARN stuff that the SHEEP will never bother to. Like for instance......remember the CDC just admitted that they wrongly categorized 80% of the 500,000 'COVID' deaths, meaning only 100,00 ALLEGEDLY died of COVID.

- In addition, there were ZERO FLU DEATHS during this same time- how ODD? (and by ODD of course I mean totally SKETCHY).

- In addition, the flu has DIFFERENT STRAINS every year so this crap that there is a 'different variant' of the fake virus means that the FLU has a different strain LIKE VERY FREAKING YEAR IN THE PAST.

- In addition, out of those 100,000 ALLEGED 'COVID' deaths, 80% of those are ELDERLY, which happens every single year and has for a zillion years. (COVID is a complete hoax you sheep).

- In addition, there is STILL ZERO controlled study where it shows MASKS stop the spread of something as small as COVID- ON THE ENTIRE PLANET EARTH and you would figure in the past year that might be something IMPORTANT and that the EARTH COVID SPECIALISTS probably had plenty to time on their hands too right? ZERO STUDY because masks are a total joke that SHEEP fell for. (Oh, and if you make your CHILD wear a mask while she is playing soccer outside, you need to be arrested for child abuse and stupidity).

- In addition, wearing a mask STOPS the flow of OXYGEN into a child's lungs,(THAT study WAS done in a controlled group, documented and proven) yet it does NOT stop something as small as the COVID virus, so literally all you are doing is putting your child in danger- and again, you helicopter parents should be ARRESTED. BECAUSE YOU ARE A SHEEP WHO BELIEVES ANYTHING LESTER OR ANDERSON SAYS. Dirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

-In addition, if that demon juice jab actually WORKS, they would ANYONE need to get that jab OR wear a mask to visit granny if she already GOT the demon jab? Wouldn't that mean she is PROTECTED????? So if Granny wants to watch little Sally's soccer showcase games, and Granny already got the demon jab, why could she NOT? SHE IS FULLY PROTECTED RIGHT?????

Yeah....so you SHOULD have stayed out of this convo until you actually did a little research yourself instead of listening to the HILARIOUS MSM. That would be like listening to False Jesuit athletics as a guide to following OHSAA guidelines. Or like listening to the ANNA coach in terms of how to LOGICALLY put your players on the ALL STATE NOMINEE BOARDS without prejudice or nepotism, or like listening to Robert Mcgee on how to stay at a program forever and not quit, or like be a positive influential mustached coach to the parents that attend Ontario games instead of being INCREDIBLY SENSITVE, Or like ....or like.....or like......

...Lady Bearcats v Notre Dame 1pm Thursday at Home.
UC lost to ND 2-1 in South Bend 2 years ago and beat them in an Exhibition match Spring 2019 1-0.

I noticed that the SEC played a truncated fall schedule. Are they playin the spring also? And, is there or was there a fall NCAA soccer championship or is there going to be one in the Spring?

Some programs played a limited fall schedule, but most did NOT, but those programs are playing those rescheduled games right now. (or are throwing schedules together on the fly currently) And YEP, there will be a FINAL FOUR etc in mid April.

I believe teams need to get 6 matches played in the Spring to be eligible for the NCAA tournament consideration. ND played in the Fall and have a 6 game schedule for the Spring. This is their first.

Jed the Juvenile Jackass and QAnon Loyalist: Take your pills, calm down, get over the fact that Trump (deservedly and putting aside policy) did not win, try to understand that your obstinate use of CAPs will always undermine your message, and perhaps remember not to use your stupid “Jed” name when you are trying to rile up like-minded idiots on Gab. Finally, you seem to know soccer, so why not keep the focus there on this site without the idiocy, immaturity and (God help us all) the yelling in caps!

Lady Bearcats playing better after a poor start. They have won 3 straight over Tennessee, Houston and East Carolina to even their record at 4-4. Up next at SMU and the final is #24 USF at home. They probably need to win one of those to qualify for the AAC tournament. Right now they sitting third with 9 points.

Good to see UC getting back to having an identity. It seems they have been trying to do different things for years and been a bit all over the place vs what was very successful.

I think the coaches are using this Spring to set up the Fall season when UC should be playing the usual 18-20 game schedule. They only have 1 senior playing regularly and she may be returning for a 5th season, this current Freshmen class looks like keepers and are making strong contributions with 6-7 playing a lot of minutes. I have no idea who has been recruited for the incoming class or how many.

UC ties #15 USF 1–1 in what was a terrific match at Gettler. Gorman scored the tying goal at 82 minutes and 2 10 minutes OTs saw a couple of chances but no goals. UC ended the season with 3 wins and a tie and are the 3rd seed in the American conference tournament at Tampa this week. First game v #2 seed Memphis who beat UC 2-0 earlier this season.

Lady Bearcats move on to the AAC championship game on Saturday after a 1-0 win over #20 Memphis. They will play the winner of USF / ECU. Five straight without a loss and a tie and a win against two top 20 teams.

Do they need to win this to qualify for the NCAA tourney?
I’d say definitely. The field has shrunk from 72 to 48 because of Covid so when you consider the automatic bids for conference champs that doesn’t leave much wiggle room. They beat one team in the top 20 and tied another also a win against a SEC opponent but I doubt UCs RPI will warrant consideration. Upside they are only losing 1 player who plays significant minutes and they have improved tremendously in the past 6 weeks so the Fall season looks promising.
