Will Trump Try to Pardon Himself, His Family Members, and Convicted Members of His Campaign/Administration

There have been numerous rumors about whether Trump plans to issue full presidential pardons for the (many) members of his campaign and "administration" that have been convicted of crimes (e.g.- Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, Gen. Michael Flynn, George Papadopoulos) or are currently under indictment (e.g.-Steve Bannon); there are also numerous rumors (some originating from Trump himself) that he has plans to pardon himself and/or various members of his family and inner circle (e.g.- Ivan-Ka, Donny Junior, and Eric Trump, Jared Kushner, Allen Weisselberg [CFO of the Trump Organization]) preemptively, to prevent federal prosecution for various alleged crimes (i.e.- tax evasion, obstruction of justice in the Mueller investigation, collaboration with a foreign power in the 2016 campaign, violations of the federal emoluments clause, etc., etc.)...

However, recent debate has centered on whether Trump might (instead) step down before his official term ends, elevating Mike Pence to President-- with the understanding that Pence would then issue presidential pardons to Trump and/or his family/inner circle. I see this as unlikely (at least for Trump's family members/associates)--as Trump, in my view, would be unlikely to want to leave his and/or his family members fate in the hands of someone else. I think it would be more likely that Trump issues pardons for all of his family and associates-- and then leaves ONLY his own pardon in the hands of Pence-- a` la the Richard Nixon/Gerald Ford "arrangement" that took place in 1974...

However, even this seems less likely, to me, than Trump simply trying to issue pardons for himself and all of his family and inner circle-- he does not strike me as somebody who would ever want to leave his fate in somebody else's hands, if he does not have to-- and he has made it clear that he thinks he DOES have the power to pardon himself-- as Trump famously said (about Nixon): "He left; I don't leave."

Been having problems sleeping for a lot longer than Donny Trump has been president... who's Happy?

Not only should Trump pardon everyone persecuted because of their support of Trump he should declassify and dump on the American public EVERYTHING to do with the attempted coup and Hunter Biden's financial shenanigans.

Transparency baby - it's a beautiful thing.

For Trump being this tyrannical dictator, I’m not sure how he is currently not declared the winner of the election by 92%...
This makes him the worse dictator in all of dictator history.
He is giving dictators a bad example to follow.

Would like to see the latter-- because it will rapidly be seen for the farcical set of allegations that it is-- much as the court cases that Rudy keeps filing are getting rapidly slapped down and/or dismissed...

None of this should have been necessary, though-- not after Drumpf "won the election" with his "stellar performance" in the second debate...

As is usual, he's even bad at his attempts at corruption-- he's not been very competent at ANYTHING in his life...

As noted by George Will, about 5-10 years ago: If Drumpf had just taken the ~$400 million dollars that he inherited from his Daddy Drumpf (40+ years ago), and invested those funds in US Government Treasury Bonds (the safest, easiest, least complicated way to invest money--hence the reason that it is referred to as "the risk-free rate" of return), Drumpf would have FAR more money today than he actually does, after his decades of foolish money-losing antics in casinos, golf courses, airlines, steaks, bottled water, on-line courses, hotels, etc.-- he would even be a REAL billionaire right now-- instead of just one who CLAIMS that he is-- but whose finances are so stretched that he felt compelled to become a tax exile and move his official residence from Manhattan to Florida, to save on his income taxes--which suggests that he's not exactly flush right now.

Oh....I bet those people Trump employed are happy he didn't do that. Yep..he "moved to Florida". Sure he did....will be a huge exodus from New York in the coming years.

Trump (or Pence) could only pardon people charged or possible facing charges with federal crimes. A president cannot pardon people convicted under state laws. That's why Trump is presumably sweating what the attorney general of New York is investiagating.

The Grifter and his family will be pardoned.. However awaiting them are a series of state and local lawsuits in addition to civil suits. Rump and family will be in court if not jail for a few years. If you think the fraud at Trump University and the Trump Foundation was funny, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Lol. That’d be great. Then we’d know he was full of shyt.

Clock is ticking— only 73 more shopping days, till the “Get Out of Jail Free” cards expire for the Drumpf Crime Family— better cash in those vouchers before January 20, 2021.

It is unfortunate that Trump cannot pardon Kyle Rittenhouse, a young man that is getting royally screwed.

I don't know if it's Kosher for a President Biden to pardon Hunter, but he'll give it a try on Jan 21st.

You mean the punk who was illegally carrying a firearm he wasn’t allowed to have in Wis. that he killed 2 people with ? The one who lied that he was hired “to protect” a business that the owner denies hiring him ? The one who left his state to go looking for trouble in another state ? That deplorable ?

Yep. He’s a hero to some of the deplorables on this board. Says a lot about them, doesn’t it?

He was protecting himself when he shot those hoodrats.

If I had a gun and someone was trying to beat me over the head with his skateboard, and his friend had a gun pointed at me, I'm pulling the trigger.

If you took an ar to a protest, went looking for trouble, and shot someone...you’d fry just like this kid will. No one will weep for this kid or his deplorable mother.
