BTW, trying to score points on Trump because some people tragically have hurt themselves by using chloroquine without consulting their physician is shameful. Trump did us a HUGE favor by publicizing this drug. Anyone who participated in the fight against AIDS will recognize how valuable off label use of existing drugs to manage an emerging pandemic is.

Frankly Dr. Fauci needed to take a break. I think he's done a great job and he is a leading expert on infectious disease spread and has helped the Trump team immeasurably. But his is ONE opinion among many pandemic specialists and IMO his stance on chloroquine is to conservative.

At this point we're moving towards needing to mitigate the economic damage the pandemic has caused and we should be starting to talk about how we come out of this. Fauci has no special expertise in these matters. Going forward Fauci should probably appear 2 - 3 times per week unless the pandemic takes a dangerous turn and intensifies.

Again all you people think about is how to use this as a way to hurt Trump. It's dispicable IMO.

Italy is a country of 60 million and has roughly 60,000 cases. China is a country of 1.3 billion and has reported roughly 80,000 cases. China kept the virus under wraps for about a month. What do you think the real number of cases China has?

Our governors are taking extreme measures with only a couple hundred of cases. Do they know the real China numbers and are taking measures now to prevent the same outcome? People keep saying we (USA)are shutting things down because they(Government) knows something we dont.

I think Trump offering hope and Fauci tempering expectations is ideal, actually.

One cannot allow a deliberately destructive partisan faction's predictable responses to change what constitutes a proper approach. Don't underestimate the perceptiveness of the good people. They know jackals and hyenas when they see them.

Again, given that this originated in China, odds are very good that the Chinese are better equipped genetically to resist this virus by their intrinsic immune responses.
 
Well, if you want to go conspiracy theory, then that would explain why China, South Korea, and Japan have relatively lower cases per million.
 
The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. We are in contact with everyone and all relevant countries. CDC & World Health have been working hard and very smart. Stock Market starting to look very good to me! - Trump Feb 24

Actually there is basis. And that basis was further amplified by the communist Chinese withholding all information about the virus, persecuting their own doctors and anyone speaking out about it, and then blaming others, specifically the United States.


But keep on siding with them.

Being critical of trumps rabid incompetence is unamerican...but attacking Obama was fine. His briefings are incredibly bad and full of promises that are not happening and lies. People will die because he refuses to listen to experts or see this through any other lens than his own personal self interest.

How am I “siding with them”? There is no biological basis for weirdo’s comment that Chinese have more immunity to covid19. None. Zero. If you know different, please share.

The briefings are great, wide-ranging, quite lengthy, and full of information from a variety of departments. I recommend listening in and learning.

Thankfully, even in the face of being called a racist (which by the way is a lie, every time it occurs), Trump saved thousands of lives by shutting down China travel. Thankfully he had the balls to do it, unlike the PC _ussies running the democrat party and the media.

I think lotr10 is like a lot of us who are tired of the 24/7 onslaught that has been going on since 2016 and has picked up since this crisis started in earnest in mid to late late January. I appreciate lotr10 doing his research because I feel its necessary to point out that Trump is doing a better job than a lot of Hate Trumpsters are willing to give him credit for. Did he make mistakes, sure but he is also being accused of stuff that are blatant lies.
