The Dems claim to be the party of the people. However, last night debate opened a can of worms for how many homes are owned by the socialist Bernie Sanders. Here's an excerpt from The Dennison Forum:

Mike Bloomberg was born to a dairy company bookkeeper and his wife; his father never earned more than $6,000 a year. He worked his way through Johns Hopkins University and Harvard Business School. In 1981, he and a team built a machine that provides real-time market data and other financial analytics to Wall Street firms. His company earned $10 billion in 2018; his net worth is now estimated at $61.8 billion.

Bernie Sanders was born in Brooklyn to a paint salesman and his wife. After serving as mayor of Burlington, Vermont, and a US congressman and then senator, his net worth is estimated at $2 million, much of his earnings coming from books. He and his wife own three homes.

Elizabeth Warren was born to a US Army flight instructor who became a salesman and then a maintenance man for an apartment building. She started waiting tables at the age of thirteen. According to Forbes, she and her husband now have a net worth of $12 million resulting from their legal work, publishing, and real estate holdings.

Joe Biden’s father suffered financial setbacks before he was born; for several years, their family lived with his maternal grandparents. His father eventually became a successful used car salesman. Joe graduated from college and then attended law school with financial assistance. He became an attorney and then senator before being elected vice president in 2008. Forbes estimates that he and his wife have a net worth of $9 million, including two homes, financial investments, and a federal pension.

Amy Klobuchar’s father was a sportswriter and columnist; her mother taught second grade until she retired at the age of seventy. Her father struggled with alcoholism for years. She graduated from Yale and the University of Chicago, then worked as a prosecutor and a lawyer before she was elected to the US Senate. She and her husband now have an estimated net worth of $2 million, including their Minneapolis home, retirement accounts and mutual funds, and a federal pension.

Pete Buttigieg’s mother and father were both Notre Dame professors. He graduated from Harvard and Oxford, then worked for several political campaigns and as a consultant for McKinsey & Company before being elected mayor of South Bend, Indiana, in 2011. According to Forbes, he has a net worth of about $100,000.

I personally would hope someone running for president would have a few million saved back to show they an manage their own life before trying to manage ours. Sorry Peter, but you have way to little to give me confidence you belong at the political top.

That’s interesting given that Trump is running at a 1T annual deficit but then again, he is an expert in going bankrupt.

Gotta get that Capitol Hill insiders’ info to really make bank. “Mayor of a town somewhere”, or whatever Bloomers called him, isn’t gonna cut it.

Owning a business is not without risk, that is just the way things are in the real world.

Few on the left have any idea what it takes to run a business, let alone run multiple business entities at once. Most of the left candidates are lawyers, they never built anything, they never met a payroll, they never a supply chain.........they just chased ambulances, sued job creators, and wrote regulations. Lawyers should be banned from political office.

Even Bernie is benefiting from his association with PrincessSummerFallWinterSpring. He rents his "medicine" lodge to Indian tribes for their celebrations.

So average joe votes for this man of the people

Hilarious that you lay out a formula for each candidate that conservatives should love. None of them came from families with means, didn't mention that any of them "inherited" anything and each moved themselves up the ladder. Yet no praise for the "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" mantra, instead they are "out of touch" and "not of the people"...… classic, pure classic.

Three and a half years and they still can't get over that Trump won.

Who? Horrible attempt at a diversion. :)

You're entire plan for posting the thread as its titled is a failure of epic proportion. Its laughable the attempt you made to discredit each as some "trust fund baby" liberals v. "common folk". You can definitely argue against their politics, that's perfectly fine. However, in your own example, each is a measure in self motivation. Again, you can completely disagree with them politically, but how they got there...... what you attempted was comical.

Why in the hellll do you people hate on the rich. Is it because you failed at life and your passion for success lost. I always wanted to be wealth , successful, living to the Housing Projects eating government surplus cheese, this dream of rich gave many hope. Did you grow up wanting to be poor , government dependent, creed because you failed, angry at those who have what you never dreamed of having. Have I reached my dream riches no but I'm grateful that I had the opportunity and not a hater of those who are wealth. I believe that is a healthier attitude.

You dipchits have a string about Bernie (who is not that rich and is self made) saying Dem's cannot rep the common folk b/c they are rich. Meanwhile you have Donny who inherited his money and lost it before becoming a fake businessman on TV .

Dems have held the less fortunate hostage for decades. They have warehoused these people in return for votes; it is disgusting. Trump has done far more for them in just 3 years by giving them jobs and a future, than the dems have done in 5 decades. In fact, the dems have set these people back for 5 decades; they played them as fools, they gave them handouts in return for political power; they did nothing as tens of thousands of factories closed. It has been a sickening abuse of power. Thank God those days are over.

Facts to you are like the Debt and Mexico paying for the wall...complete nonsense. Obama created more jobs than trump. Economic growth fairly similar. Trump has cut benefits...education, healthcare, SNAP and given huge tax breaks to billionaires. Factories are still closing and GOP attacks on unions continue.

Do you really think Donald J Trump has any respect for some worker making $50,000 a year in Ohio? Haha you guys are more gullible than I thought.

What's it like in your make believe world?

Who cares if he has respect for him. It is irrelevant.

What matters is if that person's life has improved in the last 3 years. Undoubtedly the answer is yes for the majority of workers, especially minorities.

Are you purposefully missing the "bc they are rich while wanting to take everyone else's money" part or are you just illiterate?

Billionaires will be OK. Most are paying a much much smaller rate than anyone receiving a W2. Accountants, Lawyers and Wealth Management professionals have tools that most of us cannot take advantage of....so we working people now pay a higher percentage of the budget via taxation...and spending NEVER goes down with Republicons in office.
