worst neutral site stadium

Tiffin has a giant down hill slope on the home side with no form of railing so if you slip going down, there's nothing stopping you from rolling 100+ feet down. Makes snow and rain a huge challenge and they have no visitors entrance. Locker rooms were meh.

Findlay has light poles in front of the visitors' stands..

And another stadium i absolutely hate is Xenia. Park at an abandoned Kmart and take the shuttle Seriously?!
Question for you. Does Findlay still have the visiting team in the hallway and locker room of the middle school? When we played there in college we had to change in the hallway, because the locker room was to small.

That same weekend Grove played Hardin Northern at Findlay in the same situation. The game got moved to Sunday afternoon. Only the lines and hash marks were shoveled off, the rest of the field was still covered in snow. Grove had arguably their fastest and most talented team ever up to that point and couldn't do anything because Hardin Northern was bigger and able to just play bully ball in the slop. Terrible excuse of a playing surface for a state semifinal game and it absolutely impacted the game negatively. I don't know why anyone who enjoys quality football would want that again
Snow came in on early Friday morning across Ohio. It was State Semi finals weekend. Most if not all games got PPD to Saturday and Sunday.
Kenton played Alter at Pique with natural grass. Pique have used a 4x4 machine of some sort to plow the snow off the field. In which peeled the sod off the crown of the field between the hash marks. Pique in turn put straw or sawdust down the middle of the field to help with the mud. Kenton still won with Mauk’s 5 wide offense at the time. But it was a mess for the teams as they couldn’t get any tracktion in the middle.

I’d be perfectly fine playing it @ MSML and I know most of A Town would be too. Lima is an hour and 20 from here (not by bus) and an hour from MSML

I feel like there’s definitely better options that’s all….

I completely agree, there should be some input from the teams, with just a bit of reasoning.
If both coaches want to sign off on a agreed any nearby facility by Monday, so be it. This is a high school football GAME between teenagers (with many teenage drivers attending), this is not the the superbowl. Let's just have a moment of logic and perspective.

We can have a have average dive time of 12 min. or 70 min. It is simply not necessary to waste the time and money.
If you do not like my solution, I have a attack dog coming for you and she means business.

Mansfield Madison

Terrible away press box, parking lot gets muddy and sloppy in wet weather, unless they paved it. Not a great atmosphere there

Neutral site I miss. The Akron Rubber Bowl!

Went to a game at Zanesville the final year they had grass before getting turf. They really let the field go. Not too bad now.

worst neutral site stadium? thankfully my pirates have never had to play at lima stadium, that place is a DUMP
Before I go back and read all the previous posts, was the intent to identify the worst neutral site stadium in use for Week 13 or the worst stadium in Ohio? Because at this point in the tournament all stadiums are all neutral sites.

Stambaugh is an incredible stadium but it absolutely ruins the atmosphere of playoff games, might be my choice
Its been quite a while since Stambaugh has been a neutral site for playoff games. With the turf fields in the Mahoning Valley I doubt Stambaugh will ever be used except for home playoff games

Discussing the worst fields that have been used as Neutral Sites.

Wrong

I don't think so. As a player I remember the locker room being cramped but not that cramped
We played Findlay the Saturday after the September 11 attacks so things may have been different for security reasons. I remember that one of my teammates said "Man the conference must hate playing us Ohio schools because of what we make them play at." AU was at Community Stadium at the time and Findlay. This was before Tiffin became DII.

Speaking of which, I have a nomination for a horrible neutral site: Ashland Community Stadium. It has a small visitor stand, light poles in sight lines, horrible restroom facilities(even with the new ones that were built on the concession stand), very little off-the-road convenient parking, and locker rooms that are smaller than a classroom. I know the field house helps with the locker room situation, but it is still not a good location.

The good news for you is Ashland Community Stadium has had a few million dollars in renovations since the last time you must have been there. No more light poles in front of the stands, two new sets of restrooms and concession stands. Fieldhouse with new locker rooms, and the old visitor seating has been replaced. Along with updated field turf. Hopefully Ashland wont be hosting any games this years, and their football team still has a few weeks of playing themselves.

Ever sat on the visitor side of Massillon Perry? Never did, but I understand there are freight trains flying by right behind you.

Well I would have to side with him on this one. Can honestly say having worked playoff parking lots I'm not going to sit there and count pennies when there is a line of cars waiting. Paying for parking is nothing new and having $5 on you isn't difficult. So not sure how he was the incompetent one there......
Pennies is an acceptable form of payment according to the Gov't

I remember that Grove/HN game well. I do think though that HN would have won either way , with great field conditions or bad. That defense was stacked and capable of stopping Mayberry(I think that is who was the RB then. Grove has had many great RB’s thru the years I might have flipped a few in my head year wise) The most points scored against HN that year until the state finals against Mogadore, was 11-2 Marion Local who scored 16 points.(Had to look that up because I knew ML was the highest scorer against them, wasn’t sure if the amount.) But I’m with you on field conditions, that were horrible and so glad they went to turf after that year

Running backs that year were Steve Palte and Blaine Maag - Tayt Mayberry was the QB and a stud outside linebacker, but blew out his knee halfway through the year against Troy Christian. Ben Stechschulte got moved to QB as a junior to finish out that year. The next year Stechschulte was a senior and Maag was a junior when Grove won state

Where you expect ML & Ansonia to play at? I seen on another thread you whinning about the travel to Lima getting and throttled by 50 points. If you don’t like it, just stay home eat some dinner at the Whistle Stop.
I think this is kind of why I somewhat liked the playoffs being played on different days. Piqua or Sidney would have been nice.
