Wk 1 Walsh Jesuit @ Ursuline

Definitely a narrow minded view, for sure!
The Padua game was on the way to a route by WJ before a big rainstorm hit that lead to a couple quick and costly turnovers. Also, Walsh was without a couple major pieces, choosing to rest them for the playoff run. I know guys at Padua as well, and they said that team got exponentially better as the season wore on.
The other two common opponents would tell a better story.
Tonight should be a close, hard-fought game.
Nice flex. As I recall, it was raining on both sides of the ball and on both sidelines. WJ was gassed and showed a lack of heart, conditioning, and depth in the 4th quarter. Time will as WJ stops playing a schedule loaded with mid-tier D3s and D4s like Padua and NDCL.

Ursuline by two TDs.

https://www.fantastic50.net/team01614.html - 15th toughest schedule in D2 this year

In 2023 they played 6 teams that went to the playoffs, and 2 of those 6 won multiple playoff games.

Walsh always plays a difficult schedule... Ursuline, Ignatius, Hoban, SVSM, and Lake Catholic aren't good enough for you?

Discouraging to see Ursuline get bullied again

Walsh's OL did totally dominate the LOS in that first half running straight at the Irish and then Mr. Moten hurt them several times with that QB draw but having said that the Irish just scored with no time left on the clock to cut the lead to 24-14. That was huge for them as they get the ball to start the 2nd half. They need to go down and score on that 1st possession and then somehow find a way to stop Walsh if they want a chance to win this game.

GO IRISH!

A lot of game left, but I am quite confident Ursuline is not going to win this game by 2 TD's.

Big score from Ursuline to end the half.

Huge TD by the Irish to end the half to keep them in the game.
They're going to have to slow down the Walsh running game to have a chance. Walsh ran for 218 yards in the first half.
Ursuline's speed and athleticism versus Walsh's power and strength so far.
Walsh is without their starting RB and strongest Warrior, Luke Weaver.

Why?

As a neutral fan that was an entertaining game to watch. Well, I was pulling for Ursuline so I guess I wasn't really a neutral fan but an entertaining game none the less.

Congratulations to Walsh on the win. Good luck to both teams the rest of the season.

Walsh is a very good team that does what they do very, very well. Congrats to them and good luck the rest of the season.

The Irish have some things to clean up and play much better run defense but we will be ok. I'm not going to lie, I was really nervous when it was 24-7 but the showed no quit, which you got to love.

Walsh is a good team and improving every year. They are well coached and can give anyone a game on a given night. Personally I think they are still a ways away from Hoban but I think there are a lot of teams in Ohio that would get thumped pretty good against Hoban.

God only knows at this point. Let's face it any predictions are pure conjecture. Walsh has an excellent QB.

It blows my mind they didn’t make any adjustments. Great game. You guys are tough. Have a great rest of your season and I’ll be cheering for you guys
Agree on the lack of adjustments. Walsh had zero reasons to do anything else but run the ball. Not sure how many two way players Ursuline had, but its tough to handle when a team is just pounding the ball all game on long drives.
Ursuline never quit, when the easily could have. They will be fine

Supported a common opponent against Walsh and Ursuline the last two seasons. Padua hung with Walsh in 2022 and was one yard from an upset win in 2023 but got running clock embarrassed by Ursuline the last two seasons. From my narrow view, the two programs aren't comparable. Ursuline in a rout.
Hilarious analysis to be honest

You coming back to Earth anytime soon?

Ursuline really impressed me with their speed on kickoff returns. Nearly housed a couple in the second half.

99.9% of teams in Ohio are behind Hoban...

Just so happens they are the team in the way of Walsh going to a F4 or another regional final.

If that defense doesn't improve, it's an easy guess.

Tuned into the 4th quarter. WJ's QB seems to be fast and slippery. I know that have talent at WR, but i understand not fixing what wasn't broken. 370+ ground yards is impressive. Ursuline should hold their heads high. One or two plays and that game is a coin flip. Best of luck to both teams the rest of the way.

Congrats to Walsh on a solid win. Offense is impressive with experienced talent. Both defenses look a little suspect especially the Irish. Seemed like they made no adjustments as another poster stated.
