Honestly not expecting much. Badin seems to have McNicks number recently. If they are really banged up maybe there is a chance. I’m doubtful McNick will be able to run much but their passing game has been good…that’s the best chance for points. I take some solace that Alter and CJ were competitive…maybe with a few breaks? 5-5 was about what I expected for this year given their schedule.

I think the next 3 seasons McNick will be pretty good. They have a lot of sophomores and juniors playing and the current Freshmen class has a lot of talented kids and will be 10-0 if they can take care of Badin a second time his week.

Badin has some key players out and may want to not take any chance of rushing them back for the McNick game. Badin has 24 seniors this year and may be vulnerable next year. Yordy seems to just reload tho so you never know
 
McNick Freshmen beat Badin for a second time 28-12 finish the season 10-0. They were never strongly challenged in any game this Fall. This is a really good group and I can see 6-8 contributing next season on the varsity. ( a few could probably already be there but Coach Orlando has never played a Freshmen in my memory)

I actually applaud him for doing that (not playing freshman) if true. Unless a kid is an absolute freak then let them start with their buddies and build that chemistry for 1 more year 👍

I can only speak to games since 2012. Some Freshmen have dressed after their season was over and they get to stand on the sidelines in the playoffs. I don’t think any have actually played in a game. (BTW, my son is coaching the Frosh thus the reason I’m repping them on here 😉)

Edit: there was a soccer player who kicked as a Freshmen @ 2013/2014. Also one of their current kickers (soccer) kicked as a Freshmen.

Special group of Freshmen. Sky is the limit in football baseball and basketball. And before anyone asks, no I don’t have a kid in that grade.

A couple of freshman have played. They didn't have a freshman team a few years ago so they were already JV players. To be fair, it was due to injuries.

Ok, I was hesitant when I posted that because there were several years I wasn’t paying much attention when my kids were in collegiate sports. Thanks for clarifying.
 
Pretty sure the Rockets will have a great chance to win tonight as Badin may be resting a lot of banged up kids

Ok, maybe my statement was over reaching. I’ve been to a lot of McNick games in 12 or so years and I’ve never seen a Freshmen other than a kicker play a down with Orlando as the HC. Maybe it happened.Geez you guys are tough.🥴

Jordan Vann started at qb tonight and it seemed to work effectively, granted it was Carroll.

Why on earth did the Rockets try to pass on third down with two minutes left. Worse yet the QB ran out of bounds stopping the clock. Badin goes 95 yards in two minutes for the win. Rockets QB and offense overall are outstanding

McNick corner was going for the pick 6 on that long reception to the 10yd at the end. If he would have just played the receiver the Rockets likely win.

He terribly misjudged that ball and the Badin QB threw a beauty. Just a fantastic game and good luck to the Rockets in the playoffs. A stud QB can take a team pretty far in HS. One thing I did notice is McNick is pretty small on both lines but Bobo is so good it didn’t seem to bother him much
 
So I hear 2 things, why did McNick pass and the CB went for the int. Personally I like it. Playing to your strengths, passing, and being aggressive on D. What they’ve done all year. Applaud Coach Orlando even more

You had to be watching the game, it was absolutely the wrong decision to throw the ball on 3rd and 14 from the Badin 45 with just over two minutes left. The could of ran at least thirty seconds off the clock and Badin wouldn’t have had time to score. On the long pass he just got burnt in a one on one situation where he misjudged the ball. He was nowhere near intercepting it

In any case the Rockets are going to be a tough out in R16 (as long as they don’t play Alter in R1 they seem to have their number.

I get what you’re saying, “logic” or situational awareness tells you to run the ball. But as a coach in a game that really doesn’t mean a whole lot past week 10, heck yeah I’ll go with my strength. Positive or negative outcome, I want that kid to know I believe in him. Same with the CB, may have mis judged it big time, but give me kids trying to win a game, then sitting back and trying not to lose.
 
McNick has a good team and is well coached. Hopefully Badin gets some of their guys back soon. McNick and Alter will reek havoc in R16.

CJ will beat Mt Healthy in RD1 as well 👍

What is the difference? It doesn't matter, NO playoff implications. Just as predicted Fenwick opened with soft non conference schedule and got smoked by teams with winning records. All 5 Fenwick wins against 2-8 teams. Time to start plotting the Falcon propaganda machine for 2024

Such a disappointing ending. A few head scratchers. The future is bright for the Rockets though.
