What is the record for the farthest INDOOR put of a boys' HS shot (I'm a stickler for using proper terminology!) within Ohio ever?

Hint: It was a national HS indoor record (T&F News record-keeping) at the time of the performance.

Name the individual, affiliation, and distance.

The answer to this trivia question is:

Jesse Stuart (Glasgow, KY) set a then National HS Record for the boys' indoor shot put with the 12 lb shot of 71' 11" on 24 January 1970. This was at the old Midwest T&F Federation meet at French Field House. The old record was 67' 4 1/2" by Doug Layne (Jefferson HS, Cedar Rapids, IA). 5 out of 6 put by Stuart were in excess of the old record. His series included 67' 11 1/2", 70' 3", 71' 11', 70' 10", and 68' 7".
