Is this survey for real? I couldn’t even finish it…who came up with these questions, and for what reason?

It is a survey designed to confirm what the survey creator believes to be true. Whether that was the intention or not.
 
I think this is a cultural issue. For example, as a general rule, I don't think most people watch the news to become informed. They pick a source that will reinforce their current beliefs. Consciously, or unconsciously, we've learned to ask questions in such a way to get responses that confirm our beliefs. It is the rare person that surrounds themself with people who genuinely challenge their way of thinking.
