Clay is open.
From my understanding, they wouldn't go up to the Buckeye division until 2026. Still an awful job. They have an AD that has no idea what he is doing, again this is the same guy that hired his friend to coach and didn't open it up. This same coach had no coaching experience. Clay is a dumpster fire and can't get out of its own way.Tough time to take that job. Do they move up to the Buckeye division this year or next?
Pretty similar to what I've heard! Think of how bad the job will be in 2026: Anthony Wayne, Perrysburg , Northview, Whitmer, and Findlay twice a year .From my understanding, they wouldn't go up to the Buckeye division until 2026. Fostoria hired Andrew Cantrell. Super nice kid. Not a ton of coaching experience aside from this past year with an inexperienced head coach.any word on Fostoria and Clay?
Whitmers JV coachI heard Clay hired someone..........not sure who They had it narrowed down to 3
coach pope is the new clay head coach bringing alot of veteran coaches with him from what I been hearing.Whitmers JV coach
I just don’t see much opening at all. Swanton was an interim situation I thought? So really was open mid season. It's that time of year again. Any word on any jobs that are open/opening in the area?
Swanton?
I saw that the coaching staff was released mid season at Swanton Any word on why?I just don’t see much opening at all. Swanton was an interim situation I thought? So really was open mid season.
I could be wrong but I see nothing of significance opening.
I haven’t heard one word about it.I saw that the coaching staff was released mid season at Swanton Any word on why?
Agree, not a lot of promise there. The head coach resigned in December and the asst varsity and JV coach did as well but that was only an administrative move so they could be approved to be the acting head and asst coach the remainder of the year.Swanton is not a job one should be interested in. Last place in the league at all levels. No hope in sight, barring a move in transfer.
When I sit back and look I just don’t see what would open. A lot of coaches in new roles and then some long tenure people that aren’t going anywhere. Looking around I just don’t see anything opening. Which again, I think is a good thing.Surprises me that they are not a few, still early..........
I am just not seeing that 1 or 2. All of those you just listed above I think they stay. Maybe Bowsher coach leaves because that seems like the peak of Bowsher in the near future unless some kids move over.I'm glad there's no movement around the top and middle programs. There are some that are building the right way. However, there is an epidemic of coaches who just collect a check and move on to their AAU teams.
Springfield- I want to say give this guy a second year because he inherited a mess. But if you cant make it through 5 games without half of your team quitting... I dont know how you get kids to buy in or come out the following year.
SUA- You already know my stance here.. When will they learn?
MV- There is no one that does less for her HS team than NM
Waite and Woodward - It's time to pull the plug on Thom and Manny.
Clay- They used to have decent lower level programs. A LOT of kids quit program wide by the 2nd time conference matchups came around. This was the year they should have done something, and they were awful.
Ottawa Hills- They should have won the league with their talent, but he did well enough to build on for sure.
Bowsher- They lose 4 of 5 starters. I would be shocked if Tiff came back with Kalaysia gone. But if nothing else is open, maybe she stays?
Central- They got better through the year, I guess nothing came about with the 2024-2025 recruiting issues?
TC- Just literally rolled the ball out there and let them play. This was the most undisciplined TC team I've ever seen. Guessing they're stuck with her at least another year though.
Fostoria- Finished .500 with 2 of the better players to come out of that school in the past 20 years. If he stays its gonna be ugly next year.
Scott- He got a couple transfers that helped, but overall did a better job with what he had than a lot of the first year coaches here.
Swanton- I have no idea who is running things out there. But they have been a wreck. 7th grade last in NWOAL, 8th grade, last in NWOAL, Varsity Last in NWOAL. They need someone with a lot of time on their hands out there.
Southview- 2nd year and I would say took a step back? he's probably not going anywhere though.
Rossford- A good run while Sammi was there. Now that Scarlett's graduating too the cupboards are going to be pretty bare. It's probably going to get ugly in Rossford next year, does Toby stick around?
Otsego- Another school who promoted a JR high coach straight to Varsity coach. This program had ridiculous numbers a couple years ago. Five to 10 years ago they were the cream of the crop in the NBC.
Central will be fine, Ottawa Hills isn't going anywhere with that talent, Scott should stick with what they have. Other than that if the other schools stand on their laurels: they will all be rough. TC may be okay just because the league is so bad.
Got to be 1 or 2 out of here that don't come back, right?
I agree with alot of these! I would add Northwood, another JR High Coach to varsity, players not coming back or finishing the year but it is his first year so maybe gets another shot.I'm glad there's no movement around the top and middle programs. If a job does open it probably won’t be a desirable one. There aren’t many of those out there that will be open to be honest.
NLL plays JVA and JVB, is that what you mean by BGs schedule? (agree the program isnt very good)I agree with alot of these! I would add Northwood, another JR High Coach to varsity, players not coming back or finishing the year but it is his first year so maybe gets another shot.
Also Bowling Green Not sure how long he has been there but the program is going nowhere, had trouble fielding a JV team that played a freshmen schedule and was awful.
Cardinal Stritch is a mess as well Head Coach was a joke as Clay and just continued at CS. New AD out there so it's possible he makes a change
I believe BG's JV team was a "B" team that only played Freshman or "A" teams this year. Good portion of the NLL schools with no Fresh or JV B team this past year. Heck, Springfield will struggle to even field a team next year with 4 seniors on a program total roster of 9 and 8th grade class that finished last.NLL plays JVA and JVB, is that what you mean by BGs schedule? (agree the program isnt very good)
yes, they had one JV team that played the JVB (freshman) scheduleNLL plays JVA and JVB, is that what you mean by BGs schedule? (agree the program isnt very good)
