Agree, but a few years ago people were saying the same and Coldwater beat OG and Archbold. With that said I don't see any depth in the Lima or Central districts. Looks like OG will roll through pretty easy until at least the regional final.......or is there another Coldwater in the Lima Sr. district that I am missing?
Wayne Trace looks like it will be very formidable. Liberty Benton probably 3rd with a gap between the rest. Bluffton is 6-1 but got beat by LB by 20+

The Toledo district probably will be deeper with Archbold, Swanton, Eastwood, Stritch and Ottawa Hills in it. Liberty Center is another to keep an eye on. Going to be some grinders at Central Catholic for those 3 games. I think Swanton and Stritch will both be very tough down the stretch. Real interested for round 2 of Eastwood and Rossford, and nobody should ever count out Lindsay at OH, especially when he has an older team.

Be careful counting out a healthy Archbold team. 3 best players back from last year's team that took OG to the wire in the regionals.
I understand - lots of respect for Archbold ( why I mentioned them and went to that game - not knowing all the kids out for the Streaks) are capable -but seriously - who would you make the favorite ? Someone else mentioned Coldwater - that one stings ..... most notably many years ago when O-G had the #`1 ranked team in the state - in '85 ( ??) - that knocked of D1 St Francis team - #1 in the state in D1. Coldwater came into the tournament - with a 20+ loss earlier in the season to the Titans - shot 80% form the field and beat O-G at King Horn. It can happen no doubt - but I see improvement potential from that near40 point blowout win against the undermanned Blue Streaks - that is all I am saying. I sat next to Tod Kowalczyk at that game and he thought the same as he was there recruiting the White kid - who as a soph has Michigan and Ohio State offers as well and a very deep supporting cast...... I am not suggesting that this team cannot be beaten either - but I think at this time they are clearly the D3 favorite - and after looking at that list and recent games see them as top 2-3 minimum in all NW Ohio TODAY anyway !!?

OG and Colin White play at Rossford Saturday, 1/29 for anyone that wants to see them. Rossford and OG are at home the night before against Fostoria and Celina respectively, so they should both be well rested and prepared for each other.

That Coldwater loss in 85 was painful. Man am I glad they don't play in King Horn anymore. OG never played well in that place lol. Wasn't aware that White had Michigan and Ohio State offers....that's pretty crazy.

I think you're forgetting about LCC. Got the late start after football and haven't been at full strength so far.

Have you seen Swanton play?

I have watch them play Maumee. Solid starting 5 bench little rough . 6’9 freshman is raw but has some potential.
Might check them out this Thursday against Evergreen. Will also be checking out SJJ for two games this week. Lima/Whitmer

I have and they are a decent team. That loss to a below average to bad Stryker team doesn't look good. Also, they just haven't played anyone that is any good yet to put them in his list. Best win is over 5-3 North Central? They will get a chance when they play OH, Wauseon and Patrick Henry this month.

Nic Borojevich didn't play in the Stryker game from what I understand. I think he was just a little banged up and they held him out as a precaution.

Thoughts on Rossford/Perrysburg if you saw it? Rossford played well - all about making shots for them. If Revels and Ben Morrison are making threes they are pretty good.

I didn't see it. I know Pburg was a "little" banged up. Matt Watkins didn't play the night before, coming off a knee injury of some kind. The Schultz kid played, but also missed the St Francis game due to quarantine (I believe).

From what I heard though, it was a good game. Rossford led most of the game (up 8 early but then very close) but Pburg took the lead for good late in the 4Q. It was 14-10 after one and 31-30 at half......and 43-43 at the end of the 3Q.

For whatever reason, Pburg hasn't been scoring like they did earlier in the season. 54, 44 and 55 in the last 3 games. That said, their Defense is pretty stout. Only giving up 46 a game through 10 games.

I'm still waiting for the Klusmeyer kid to get going. Probably one of the most athletic and gifted kids in the area. 6-5 and jumps out of the gym. Has improved his outside shot quite a bit, but he somehow misses the easiest shots consistently. It boggles my mind. He really should be averaging 20+ a game but is probably closer to 10-12 on the season. He should dominate inside because of how he jumps, but again, just seems to miss layups and short shots too often.

Interested to see how they play against a streaky BG team on Friday. Could get Pburg back on track with scoring as BG this year likes to play up tempo, which is where I think Pburg is at their best. I think BG might have a tough time scoring though. They can get hot from outside, but they have no real size except for Conway. And Pburg is about 6-4 and long/athletic at every position (Bohman and Schultz being the exceptions). It's why their D has been so good.

Usually your posts are very informative and intelligent. I can't say that about this one. Kind of a low blow and borderline immature.

I have had some regrettable posts in the past (see post #215 in this thread - although I stole the term from the mother of a Whiteford player who doesn't like her son's hair)....but this is not one of the regrettable posts.

It was only meant as humor - didn't state anything negative toward the players or coaches. Even without winning I think both teams are playing at or above their expectations - Clay has one varsity player with limited PT back from last year, St. Francis graduated a ton of guys and had 6 guys injured at one point or another.

I'm sure both will improve down the road.

It's a joke. Lighten up. Clay is actually improved IMO. Not sure what's going on at St. Francis though.

New coach, nearly everyone graduated with some injured and one suspended for fighting (he is back) and another suspended for gambling on his own game (he's gone).

To be fair they do have some promising kids in Heck and Sanders but most of their present talent also graduates this year. Does Swigart play basketball too?

Is the kid that threw the sucker punch back? Or was that the “fighting” loss? I’m sure reinforcements will be on Bancroft sooner rather than later, unless it’s tougher getting kids into SFS than it was Stritch.

new conference couldn’t start soon enough for any major sport program than Clay basketball. IMO they have a very solid coach now, hope for them some Jimmy’s and Joes start playing basketball in Oregon. Heard the old fun spot has a start up basketball program, hopefully that’s a start. Unfortunately when those things start up they have the private school stench to them sometimes, hopefully Clay can benefit

I think Maumee has been a pleasant surprise this year. They have increased their win totals from last year and have been competitive in every game. I was able to chat with their coach in the fall and he said that Maumee has a lot of talent in the pipeline and was very successful at the jv level last year. The uptempo play that their coach installed with his offense suits them. I am very eager to see what happens when Maumee is in the NBC in the future.
