Title Game Bama v UGA

Yes, Tua part two. Might have some success if in a good organization that schemes well around his physical limitations, but otherwise lack of size and arm strength is going to make it hard to consistently be an average starting QB.
That's what I was thinking.

And I think that’s r*tarded. He played ok, but we saw what happens when they need him to carry UGA in a shootout. I don’t like the obfuscation of the truth to sell a story. College Football fans are already pretty f’n dumb and they’re going to be dumber by buying into this idea a game manager QB + elite run game+ elite S is a realistic way to win a title and it’s not. The stars had to align for UGA this yr to win that way.
What? Alabama got ALL the breaks in the game and still won! Please.

Georgia was the best of a bunch of highly flawed teams this year. There were no world-beaters obviously. The national mediocrity was in full evidence by a middlin’ team like UC getting a playoff berth on the back of a one-game schedule while employing a bunch of players who should’ve been part of the workforce by now. It is what it is: a bad season. Wash it away and let’s hope 2022 brings much better quality.

It’s true, it’s true. Trust me …

Reading through this thread my choice of watching Gomer Pyle USMC, Green Acres and two episodes of Hogan's Heroes seems to have been much better than watching the game.

and if Omar grew 5 inches he would be 5'9", so what?

FB is a game of attrition, and the best ability to have is availability.
I agree. I was just messing with Omar. Injuries are part of the game. I really didn't care who won last night.

There have been successful QBs his size and he has really good accuracy, including his deep ball. I think he'll do well in the right organization. He's only a RS Freshmen, so he has one more year to develop before he could even go to the NFL.
Young is accurate. that's what it takes to make it in the NFL. Yes, he has some grooming to do, but he's got a year or two at Bama before he has to make any moves. He will not see a tougher defense in college than he did last night and he was minus his two starting receivers.

The TV ratings are firming up and it looks like the downward trend in NCAA football continues. The recent CFP title game averaged 22.6 million viewers across ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU; that is like an average Sunday NFL game. For all the crowing about how NCAA football is a better product than the NFL it is not translating to viewership numbers.

Outside of the Ga-Alabama fans, not very many were enthusiastic about the game that they were willing to invest the time on a school/work night. It was a regional game at most.

This had probably been brought up, but why dont they hold this game on a Saturday night instead of Monday?

Who says college football is a better product than the NFL? It’s vastly inferior. The games take 30 to 45 minutes longer than an NFL game due to longer commercials, longer halftime, more frequent (unnecessary) replay reviews, and unnecessary clock rules (stopping the clock for first downs).

Then factor in a massive caste system of oligarchs and serfs in college football.

NFL is so much better.

It’s true, it’s true. Trust me …

It's too long for sure. To say it is vastly inferior is of course silly at best.

^ This.

Several years back there was an article that came out talking about the myth of competition in college football. It went on to point out how recently and moving forward, each season, realistically only a handful of teams have a legit shot at the national title. And this will only get worse.

Who wants to watch when they know their team has zero chance of making it in the first place and it is the same old 4-6 teams every year playing in the final 4? A repeat of the SEC title game does not help for any fans outside of Bama & Georgia.
