7 league games, 3 ooc gamesI like it. My guess is you would play 6 league games every year. Quality opponents.
Think they could’ve focused on NEO privates and got a league, but oh well, this is better than independent for Varsity football. Everything else wouldn’t be ideal. How y'all feeling about this?
Was thinking about this too. But a number of private schools that could have potentially joined this league are committed to the North Coast Conference - aka a reboot of the North Coast League sans Hoban.Think they could’ve focused on NEO privates and got a league, but oh well, this is better than independent for Varsity football. It will be interesting to see if the travel becomes an issue for VASJ.
I wonder if Benedictine was invited and declined?
I see, said the blind man.....From the comments in the ohio.com article, the schools involved wanted a co-ed league. So no Benedictine in the mix.
Just wondering why would travel become an issue for Joes? Was thinking about this too. But a number of private schools that could have potentially joined this league are committed to the North Coast Conference - aka a reboot of the North Coast League sans Hoban.

It honestly shouldn’t be an issue unless the bus’s decide to cr@p out on them and have to rent. This necessarily wouldn’t be the first time they have traveled to Columbus on a Friday for a gameJust wondering why would travel become an issue for Joes?
Rostsky will be paying for the charters out of his own pocket.Just wondering why would travel become an issue for Joes?
Agreed CTown. I was just thinking there is the potential for 4-5 long bus trips a season. But maybe it won't be an issue at all. Bottom line, the AD is fully aware of what he is committing to by signing up for the conference in the first place. It honestly shouldn’t be an issue unless the bus’s decide to cr@p out on them and have to rent. I am assuming you meant @SVSM for week 5. They are the only OCAC member not shown, and it's kinda difficult to play yourself in week 5. LOL.The AD is fully aware, I wonder if he conferred with the new Coach and his staff before committing to this?
This is the tentative '26 schedule
Week 1 Nordonia
Week 2 Open
Week 3 @Hudson
Week 4 Cardinal Mooney
Week 5 @VASJ
Week 6 @ DeSales
Week 7 @ Ursuline
Week 8 Bishop Hartley
Week 9 Bishop Watterson
Week 10 @ Walsh
Only 1 trip to Columbus which isn't bad, but that's a pretty tough schedule.

Too many schools identified by letters - glad I have never made mistakes like that.

All good! I didn’t make it clearOops....
Doubled down on my stoopid pills today.
More so than the Holy War?And if that schedule does end up being official, I love how week 10 could be rivalry week across the conference.
SVSM - Walsh no matter where in week 10 just seems to land right.
I get your point. The Holy War was the ideal Week 10 opponent.More so than the Holy War?
Gotcha. Being in the conference makes that impossible. I think you mentioned Hoban would likely slot in week 2 and Walsh week 10 is the next best thing. I’ll see your Irish down in Canton at a pretty big 7v7 this weekend.I get your point. The Holy War was the ideal Week 10 opponent.
But that is no longer possible. With the Irish committing to this league, week 10 is no longer available to independent teams. Weeks 4-10 are for league games. So the Irish have their "other" bitter rival in Week 10 - fellow league member Walsh Jesuit.
This league could be scheduled on an annual basis to have rivalry games in Week 10. SVSM-Walsh; Cardinal Mooney-Ursuline; two of the Columbus schools; with the remaining Columbus school playing VASJ.
Cool! Full report incoming......Gotcha. Being in the conference makes that impossible. I think you mentioned Hoban would likely slot in week 2 and Walsh week 10 is the next best thing. I’ll see your Irish down in Canton at a pretty big 7v7 this weekend.
We’re actually in the same pool as the Irish. I’ll do what I can, lol. Don’t have high expectationsCool! Full report incoming......
LOL
Schedule on the school website has two scrimmages listed - both away. When is stvm scrimmage next month
Heard that interview too. Not going to lie it sounded a little rough.Interview with Ohsfbmedia asked Coach Grant about What made him come back and coach at Stvm?
Coach Grant “ I just didn’t appreciate the state of the program and school while I was away. Now that I’m back I plan on bringing it back to the prominence it once was when I was there and after I left.”
I didn’t think so it’s his first season as a head coach he’ll get used to it but I appreciated his honesty in what the state of the program before he took the jobHeard that interview too. Not going to lie it sounded a little rough.
