Wrestling weight classes are a Bell ? Curve. The middle weights are the most crucial. That’s why I always argue we should have 125,130,135,140,145 like it use to be and not 126,132,138,145 like it is today. But on the topic of going down to 13 or 12 weights classes it would look different but middle weights are the most important to consider as you work out. Numbers will probably go down. 1979 I believe was enrollment peak and been falling ever since.

106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 168, 176, 186, 198, 220, 285
This fixes everyone’s concerns.
You’re welcome.

Joe, would you agree with reducing the sport to 2 divisions or an experimental year?
At this moment, I don't. With a change to 2 divisions, would likely need to see a change in either the number of legs in the postseason (adding a regional, semi-state, etc.) or expanding district and/or state bracket. More changes and even longer tournaments in what is already a long enough season.

Keep 3 divisions, add the 4th mat on the big state for our female wrestlers and enjoy the product.
