Ohio State Football 2023

He is Day's QB. He recruited him and he named him as his starter. Apparently he isn't what Day wants running his system. If Day doesn't believe him, what difference does it make what the rest of us think of him? I wish him success wherever he goes. Quite obviously, with Day as the head coach, that isn't at OSU. A 12 game audition told Day all he needed to know. I question Day's aversion to running the QB and I think it puts any OSU QB at a disadvantage. But I am not the coach and nobody going to pay me $9.5 million a year for what I think.🤷‍♂️
and yet he let Stroud run the DAM ball against Georgia... and it really opened up the offense. what use is it for a QB to read the DE and when the DE crashes, to not pull the ball out and run around the end..... and yet he allowed Stroud to do that against GEorgia, and it paid off..

I am more curious to see what we have in Hayden. They intentionally red-shirted him. I hope there was a reason for it. I was more disappointed in Evan Pryor leaving. We never got to see him at his best. But if it is true Henderson is coming bace, it would make sense for Pryor and Trayanum to transfer out.
i think the backs they have coming in are in the same style as Pryor was ( INJURIES) hurt his chances at OSU

I think Trayanum is a real loss. He's the one back on the team that runs hard between the tackles. He excels on special teams and plays fullback when called upon. He had a very good freshman year at RB at ASU and came back to play LB only to move back to RB when they were short at RB due to injuries. I'm curious to see where he lands and at what position.
I would not be surprised if he ends up at a high level SEC program as a #2 back, how is the depth at RB for 'Bama, UGA, LSU, & Texas? They all still pound the ball somewhat and go through RBs because of that. Maybe UM that will be trying to add depth at the spot? My guess is he didn't foresee the touches at tOSU with Henderson coming back and Hayden being a true threat for that #2 RB. Williams probably saw the same writing on the wall.

Not too concerned about RB. The writing has been on the wall all year that next year will be Hayden's "turn".

Henderson seems to be trending towards returning. That pair, even if Henderson is oft-injured, is more than talented enough.

MHJ doing media for the Heisman continues to punt on making a decision for Cotton Bowl and NFL Draft. He keeps reiterating that the two reasons he hasn't made a decision yet are directly related to beating TTUN and getting to Indy. MHJ, Carnell, and Jeremiah Smith would be insane.

Hopefully Smith stays committed to OSU: https://t.co/frmdKp3yUy
170 yds. in the 1st half of state championship game.

Would be cool to see Henderson return. I used to think he was the best back in the country but in the Michigan game he showed some real weaknesses he hasn’t improved on

It’s fascinating watching the implosion of an American institution. Between the portal, NIL, super leagues the sport most of us grew up watching is becoming NFL lite. Maybe colleges should do a payment structure like the NFL did for draft picks. QB pays X, WR pays Y etc

Agreed. There's still some scuttlebutt about FSU being his last visit, but Hartline has been at his playoff games. And we've clearly seen that the last visit doesn't always seal the deal. *See Jordan Seaton. Lol.
It’s definitely NIL related with these high level recruits. Hartline can go to class for him and it won’t matter, show me the money

Don't disagree. But there's also $$$ benefit for these dudes to keep doing visits even if they have no intention of attending that school. Everyone wants recruits to 'shut it down' after they verbally commit, but that's not likely to happen much anymore. And in Smith's case, FSU and Miami will keep extending the little 💰's, steak dinners, swag, etc., to keep them coming back to campus until signing day - even if tOSU has already won out with the biggest 💰 .

Debris at the bottom of the roster vs starting QB, next year WR1 and 1b RB.
Okie lost their starting QB did Venables lose the team? With Innis, Tate, Smith, and if EE comes back Fleming was probably option 3 - 5 at WR. Traynum is a backup rb who doesn't want to sit behind Henderson (if he comes back), Hayden and maybe Peoples. Fleming and Traynum most likely saw the writing on the wall. UGA lost their back up QB to the portal because he did not want to sit another year, players want to start not sit.

Well it’s a good thing the only one of those they lost is the starting QB. And he was too afraid of competition. You want that around leading your team? Seems like a great choice if you want a repeat of this year.
