New Centerville Elk

I imagine the point above could have equally been made the same without continuing the ridiculous tripe of trying to count the coach's kid who's been there since the 2nd grade and who you know, is there because Dad was hired to be the coach 10 years ago in the "move-in/transfer" category.

The transfer trend this off-season, especially picking up the foreigner that will be 20 at graduation and who under most circumstances should have been a senior two years ago (and at worst this year), looks really bad. They've added three probable major impact players this off-season and regardless of how they got there, they have to be the best "recruiting class" that any school in Ohio, public or private, has added this spring/summer.

I added the coaches kid because the ELK community counted the Trice kids as transfers.... it just a slam on them not on Gabe. Everything I type about it on the transfers in Centerville is at the posters on here that attacked Wayne for years but now they have turned into hypocrites. It is all fun for me and I will keep it going. Again, I can care less about the transfers with the exception of the 19 year old.

The attacks on Wayne were so bad that one coach seeded Wayne dead last while others complained to the OHSAA causing players to have to sit who were eligible. There was never one transfer that was proven to have been recruited but the attacks continue not only from posters on this site but from the local paper who now are praising the transfers at Centerville.

Was there blowback when Wayne had a starting lineup of 2 Stivers kids, a Miamisburg kid and a Springfield kid? Or the year before a Stivers kid, a shawnee kid, springfield kid, Miamisburg kid and a yellow springs kid? I think you told everyone they left for a better opportunity

read my post #62

as for a blowback at Wayne, yes. When kids who grow up in a system get left off the team because of a number of move ins some people get upset.

Write a letter to the editor or stop being so one-sided if you want people to stop being "Hypocrites". The definition of which applies to someone who defended Wayne transfers and coaching and now attacks Centerville coach and his entire program based on a kid who may or not play and even if he does I doubt he was recruited.

My hypocrisy is a sarcasm. I have no issue's with the transfers minus the 19 1/2 year old but with that of the Centerville community that came on here and trashed Wayne.

I'm an old Elk (69 years of age), and I'm still hoopin'. Last night at the YMCA, they were really clawing and scratching trying to stop me. But I was hitting all my arsenal of shots (including hook shots). I woke up this morning and saw this long scratch on my arm. So I decided to take a photo of it. (I attached the photo here)

Even the finger I'm pointing with in the photo was scratched. It bled a lot after it was scratched, so I put some tape I had around it, as band-aids didn't help.

Most players at the Y are encouraging. But there are those that can't stand being beaten by a senior citizen, and it blows their minds.

Thanks to my younger years of living in Centerville, with it's Elk pride, for fostering my life long passion for basketball.

Anyone have their schedule? I’d love to go check out some great HS basketball.

With all the talk of this young man's age, you'd think this was a picture of him you posted!

So you’re one of the old-cats that hands out buckets at the Y? I find your demographic to be absolute money from the corners if left open.

Yes playboi12, you hit the nail on the head. During games, I'll drift over behind the 3 point line to the corners, where my defender tends forget I'm there, and I get open shots there to make.

I've got to really work at staying in good shape to keep up with those much younger guys in the full court games. But I have an edge with so much more basketball experience. I've been shooting hoops for 66 years (since I was 3 years of age).

I have shooting practice in my backyard building. The last several minutes of my practice I usually practice shooting 3 point shots (21 feet out) while on the move dribbling. Then I'll practice shooting shots using just one hand, where I make 10 shots from free throw line distance (15 feet out) and then 10 made shots from 18 feet out.

I have a link to a video here of the last 5 minutes of one of my shooting practices at home.

pass the ball you shoot to much.

If you're 19 before your senior season starts, you should not be allowed to play sports, IMHO. Not fair, not safe.
OHSAA Bylaw 4-2-1 states:

Once a student attains the age of 20, the student will no longer be eligible for interscholastic athletic competition notwithstanding where that 20th birthday falls in relation to the sports season.

The guys who aren't going to get playing time because of the transfers in!

At least 2 of their 5 starters last year were transfers.
It's been pretty apparent for awhile that Moe brings in alot of transfers, especially at the varsity level.

Has this been a problem with parents? There doesn't seem to be alot of negative noise that comes out of the program.

Wait, let me get this straight. You don't like it when someone, anyone trashes Dayton Wayne, but you can spew your hate and contempt for other schools. There is a name for individuals like you. It is @$$HOLE! GBM

Get ready the age thing is going to come in to play more in the next 10 years. When you have a kid starting school a year late then they don’t pass the third grade guarantee kids will be 20 graduating high school.

Cupps has had more kids transfer out of that program than transfer in.
Yeah but if the quality of incoming transfers is better than outgoing, it’s a win.

Two brothers transferred out to a prep school one is at Penn state I think the other is at eastern Michigan now. Another transfer started for alter last year will be a senior this year.
