Right, the mass of thousands at the back has the advantage. The elites up front are actually being hurt by starting up there.

I've never seen marathon results separated by front back/back pack. Until, you know, the elites get beaten.

I was sure this was going to be a bass fishing post.

Seems like the big problem here is that the "elite" field wasn't terribly elite, if they didn't even break 3 hours.
