If Russia invades Ukraine pt 2

How so? When he kowtowed to him in public or when he kowtowed to him in public?

J-F-C he has been very clear on his admiration for Putin and disdain for Ukraine because of Burisma and the phone call. It is always about his ego over the greater good.
How so? When he was sending weapons to Ukraine before it was cool, when he was telling the Europeans to wean themselves off Russian energy while taking their market share by increasing our production...

Trump would have either backed Ukraine from the start or walked. He wouldn’t have gotten into another long conflict like Biden managed to do here.

Biden really did take the worst course of action available to him. At least if he lets Putin have Ukraine then the death and destruction are largely avoided. Instead we’ve gotten maximum death and destruction.

What revisionist $chit are you subscribing? You understand the importance of supporting Ukraine. Trump does not. He has made it clear.

Let a dictator have another country, that's the winning strategy here?

You don't think fighting would still be going on in Ukraine if the US wouldn't be supporting the Ukes? How many rooskies and Ukes died in the 1st month of the war before US got heavily involved. Russians may have more control of Ukraine without our support, but Kyiv would have been Putin's Stalingrad.

Fighting would have been over around June of last year when Ukraine ran out of their own supply of ammo. The EU won’t continue to supply them if the US says no

Stalingrad wouldn’t have worked out for Stalin without ammunition.

Huh?

If Ukraine wanted to be Russian there would be no resistance. I hope this helps your awfully flawed thought process. By this terrible mentality no war ever is worthy.

I’m referring to Biden’s choice for our involvement not Ukraines choice or will to fight.

You just don't get it, some people will fight to the death for their freedom no matter what they have to fight with (even without our support the Ukes have enough weapons to kill Russians in urban warfare). By the US and Europe supporting the Ukes with Patriots and other air defenses we have saved numerous civilian lives. How many rooskie missiles have hit Kyiv lately, some I am sure but with our support (Europe's as well) we have prevented civilian casualties from being worse than they are.

In a thread on X, formerly known as Twitter, Swedish economist Anders Aslund, who has served as an economic adviser to both the governments of Russia and Ukraine in the past, explained that Western sanctions imposed on Moscow are working.

"A few comments on Western sanctions on Russia. They are often misunderstood. Western politicians love to talk about 'sanctions from hell,' but good sanctions take off 2-3% of GDP each year and they have done so for Russia, whose GDP has stagnated since 2014," he wrote on Wednesday.

"Putin & his ilk, on the contrary, claim both that the sanctions just make them stronger (which is wrong) & that they have to be abolished (which them must not). Their advocacy shows that the sanctions really bite."

A third group, Aslund said, include people who call for much tougher sanctions and claim against evidence that the sanctions don't work and are useless.

"While they call for tougher sanctions, their arguments help Putin," he said.

"A realistic expectation is: 1. The sanctions will keep Russia's economy stagnant. 2. The ever tighter technology sanctions will render the Russian technology ever more obsolete. 3. The financial & energy sanctions impose a hard budget restriction on the Russian government," Aslund wrote.

"Yet, much more can and should be done. 1. The West should tighten personal sanctions & coordinate them. 2. All military-industrial companies should be sanctioned. It is galling that Rosatom is not sanctioned. 3. The energy & technology sanctions must be enforced," he added.

Many Ukrainians still have their freedom and are fighting for their children’s freedoms.

Sadly up to 16,000 Ukrainian children were taken from their parents and sent back to Russia - What is the end game for those children?

So many lives lost for one man’s ego (Putin). At some point it will be unsustainable. Putin is trying to buy his electorate at the moment due to the BS looming election by offering social welfare in the face of inflation and weakening supply due to material and labor shortage. Russia’s collapse will not happen tomorrow but when it does it will happen rather quickly. I just hope the West and Ukraine have the stomach to see it through.

This BS always cracks me up. Putin is not making peace with anyone. Putin started planning the Ukraine invasion decades ago. This was always in the works and after signing his enormous budget devoted to the war into law he is not stopping.

Priceless, right?

You must be heavily invested in defense stocks.

I can’t help it if your political alliances do not allow you to see the USA benefits in supporting Ukraine for the cost of less than 15% of our yearly military budget. Party over country.

As for my 401k investment portfolio, yes the defense stocks are doing quite well. Hope your ‘Green initiative’ stocks are doing ok for you.
